He didn't get into trouble (for the pot at least). He went with my plan of using the ~25 plants up by never taking larger amounts about, and pretending to his mates that it was procured by normal means- which his friends all had themselves, and none of them were beggers, so it worked out.
I also had to remind him that Mum is an ex-Cop with a better nose for it than I had, so storing a gladbag full of the weed at home was also not happening.
A while later, my bro, a mate, and I had our ~5 year crime career come to an end when the mate didn't run fast enough when we were sprung by security during a high-school break-in. Being the over-18 of the group, I took the fall for organizing the B&Es– but we had a consistent story already planned for just 2 break-ins with the same MO (glass-cutter'ing windows to steal computers), which we/I was charged for (2 years probation, $20 court costs). In actual fact, we were responsible for ~50 public-building/business break-ins, that most of the time no-one realized had happened because of the way we did things and only taking things that wouldn't be noticed.
