My first thought was that you should go to the embassy of your country and report the theft, and try to get a new one issued. Also report the theft to the police, give them details, etc.

Some brief online research has informed me that you need to get to the embassy (consulate) of your country, and report what's happened. They can provide you with a temporary passport so that you can leave to your next destination without having to fill out a lot of paperwork, but they can also arrange for you to receive a new one, perhaps at your next stop. I know this doesn't relate to your money problem, but you might be able to solve the whole issue in a relatively short amount of time. Sorry if you already know all this/ have planned it already.
