Australians are just utterly naive. We're tucked away in a safe corner of the world, no obvious national threats or rivals. We annexed an immense landmass that we've only begun to scratch the surface in developing. We've had a stable demographic and political past, no coups or civil wars or ethnic rivalries. Our economy cannot fail no matter how incompetent the government. Everything has just been so easy for us.

People think we've achieved the perfect multicultural socialist utopia and the US are morons for not doing the same. When really our only success is from immense luck and it being too early for the damage of the highly corrosive leftist ideologies to become apparent.
