This more than anything. Some subs are alright, but at its core reddit is not for free speech. If you want to be a normalfag and feel like you belong, you can pretend you agree with anything and avoid posting anything controversial. It's not really a site for discussion, I just browse game subs there for info and dank memes.

Niche boards like for specific bands are okay. Anything remotely related to politics (history, news, some sciences) is censored and astroturfed as fuck. Plus there's general rules that apply to whole site, like anything remotely criticising kikes.
