Do you think that there will come a time when /b/ will undergo chemo, and kill, or at least stagnate, the cancer? After all, summerfags, redditfags, and cuckchanfags are migrating all at the same time, but will soon return to their place of origin, once they realize they're not welcome on /b/. Until then, though, we have /b32/.

Cancer is a part of chan culture, well really not even chan, more of internet culture.

It's there to stay, unless all chans form rules to stop cancer posting it will be there.

Here's the thing about cancer on any given forum or *chan.

Its dependent on the internet around it , at the time in the mid 2000s there wasn't much web 2.0 bullshit to attract all the NORPs.

Facebook wasn't prolific yet , leddit was still riding the coattails of Digg , twitter wasn't around yet ect.

It was just matter of fact that there are more normalfags on the internet by proportion now then there were 10 years ago , so a lot of shit is going to regress to the mean in terms of demand especially if someone can make it profitable.

Right, but where do we draw the line? Building a new community just based on people who browse web 1.0 is pointless, such communities still exist in irc and other older networks. I guess if you really wanted you could always open a fresh hidden board and make it invite only, but why bother?

My point is you have to make do with what we have around us , the reality is just that the type people and motivations that made 04-06 /b/ great aren't all in once place anymore or don't exist.

That magnitude of win is unlikely to be seen again for a long time.

So while we do have to strive to reach new heights and do something new we have to realize its going to be an uphill battle to make things good.

The cancer will never leave. Most of the cancer browse multiple sites like reddit+4chan or more. I visited 4chan /b/ last night and they are proud to admit being reddit/tumblrfags. I saw one post calling a thread out on this bullshit and it was drowned in replys of "edgy" and summer/newfag and "your life must be devoted to 4chan, go outside nerd". It is even worse over there than right after the exodus. So its just cancer getting exponentially more cancerous. I have no idea how its possible since there's almost no oldfags left over there anyways, but the cancer shows no signs of lessening at all.
