We've fallen a little bit, but were still not that far down the list. It's pretty amazing how quickly the "Active Users" decreases. As long as a few dedicated users stick around I think the board will naturally grow, though it may be a while until it gets in the top 25.

The active users number is determined by the amount of different IPs that make a post in the last 24 hours on the board. So yea. Honestly I don't know why HW wanted it that way, but you would think the board ranks would be by PPH, not Active Users.

/animus/ may have a lot of post, but that's due to the nature of the board, which is a lot of tripfaggotry though they stay on their board, which is nice /animus/ has a lot of posts made by a few posts, whereas /a/ has a lot of posters making few posts.

I don't think people being shy would be the problem here, it would really only be a problem to new anons who haven't been exposed to this type of content before.
I think the main problem would be that the users new to the board would watch their steps in posting because they don't want to be banned.
Honestly I feel neither are much of a problem, but at the rate this board is going it's unclear if we are loosing users or just gaining lurkers who don't post a lot or any.
