Explosive Reactive Armor

It's literally blocks of explosives sandwiched between metal plates and strapped to a tank. They explode outward when they get hit by enough force, which causes the outer metal plate to launch outwards towards the projectile to disrupt the its shape and angle of attack. It also has the unfortunate side effect of launching shrapnal all around the tank, which means infantrymen shouldn't stick too close if there's any danger of getting attacked.

It's similar in nature to the ARENA defense system in the webm, except it's attatched to the tank and useful for more than just rockets.

And one of the possible weapons to surpass metal gear is giving everyone and everything ERA, so that hitting only one of them starts a chain reaction as the shrapnel activates other slaps of ERA, then those also activate other slaps of ERA, then it goes on until there's no more ERA. It would destroy everything in a given area.

So if you march in 10 000 infantrymen into a city, all of them wearing ERA, then the enemy will be forced to use only melee against them, or risk total annihilation.
