http://bane.wikia.com/
Come one, come all, and let's make the fire rise together!
The intent of the wiki is to collect the wisdom of all the world's Banescholars in one spot.
The wiki only has two rules. The first one is to not be a hothead. This should come naturally to all Brothers here.
The second rule is that all theories are equal. What this means is that any interpretation you might have of the plane scene, no matter how wild, it's always welcome in the wiki. Maybe you think Dr. Pavel is secretly Ittin in disguise. Maybe you think Juan's haircut held the secret to why plane crash investigators only examined blood instead of dental records.
Maybe you think Smee's name is actually spelled Schbvmié. Go ahead, put it in his page's "Also known as" section!
The point is, the wiki is a forum for all of you to collect your favorite content and ideas in one spot. Go ahead and make a new page for your theory, a screencap of your favorite thread, or any and all other Banelore, and add it to this category:
http://bane.wikia.com/wiki/Category:OC

Can you rename pages? If so, can you change Ittin to Itten? I found out that Itten is an actual surname (Johannes Itten was a mathematician).

Also, Maimen is not a correct spelling. The only spelling I've found that are real are Maiman and Meiman.

Yes pages can be renamed, but I'm reluctant to do so unless the majority agrees it should be done.

I don't know how to though. Also, we need a Places category, as I decided to make Uzbekistan a link and it made a page for Uzbekistan and I don't know how to use the infobox and all that so I was hoping either you or some other experienced brother could build on it, thanks.
But the infobox shit in general I can not figure out for the life of me.
No.78282
>>78280
The infobox template is created around characters, as you can see. But it might be funny if you put in a picture of a map of Uzbekistan and put in the details (is Uzbekistan big or small? is it's occupation the extraction of physicists?)
The infobox is really pretty simple to use. Just open the source editor and paste in this template:

Just replace the details you want to fill in, and remove the line if you want to leave it blank.

"Now try to imagine yourself in CIA's place. You get your first look at this "hired gun" as you enter your plane. He moves like a prisoner, slowly, bowing his head. And you keep still because you think that maybe his wrath is based on movement like CIA; he'll lose you if you don't move. But no, not Bane. You stare at him…and he just stares right back. And that's when the attack comes. Not from the front, but from behind. [brings two fingers together with a whooshing sound] From the other plane…you didn't even know was there. Because Bane's a big guy, you see, he uses coordinated flight plans and he is out in force today. And he speaks at you with this: [produces a mask] a six-tube face mask, like a scuba mask, on the middle of his face. He doesn't bother to stab your jugular like a murderer, oh no … he punches at you here [makes punching motions below the child's chest] or here … [above the groin] or maybe he breaks your neck, severing your spinal column. The point is, you are alive when he starts to crash your plane. So, you know…try to show a little respect."

If you have any ideas for improvement, let me know here.
I know one brother spoke up about guests not being allowed to upload images. That's a shame, and I would remove the restriction, but it seems to be global to wikia as far as I can tell.
Guests can still create pages though (containing imgur links for example), and registration is a very simple process, only taking a couple of steps.
Keep up the good work, and don't be scared to create new pages!

Can you merge Juan and Amon under "Amon". It's apparent that they're the same person because of their brown shirt. Also, "Ayhred Gunn"'s picture can be changed to pic related (or a better angle if you can find one).
Also, a HUGE selection of pages you can make:
- Uzbekistan (use the location infobox)
- Operation 98H1 (Operation Early Bird)
- Gotham City
- Gotham City Stadium
- Gotham Rogues (yellow football team)
- Rapid City Monuments (white football team)
- Gotham Incident

- Masketta Man's car
- League of Shadows

- The CIA Rises/Phuturae Controversy
- Masketta Man (musician)
- Bane Star (as well as the musician)
- 4/21/2015 Christopher Nolan says plane scene is his favorite
- Aurora shootings
- United States of America
- Judaism
- Islam (don't tell me TDKR isn't about the struggle between Judaism and Islam because if you look deep enough, it really is)

Perhaps these are theories you do not understand. A long time ago, I was in /tv/. My brothers an I were working for the local mercenaries. They were trying to buy the loyalty of the local mods by adding serious discussion to funposts. But their threads were being derailed on the first page by a shitposter. So, we went looking for the derailing post. In six months, we never found any obvious non-serious post. Then one day, we find a post containing factual errors about the movie being discussed. The shitposter had been shutting down meaningful discussion by hiding the facts.

Let's not do that. I fully believe your theory that they are the same man, but the roles they play, both in the scene and in a lot of OC created around it, are distinctly different. We'll put in a clear indication in both pages' intro chapters that they are likely the same man.

The only section of the infobox that has to be filled is the name, the other ones are optional. I agree with the other anon that head temperature isn't necessary.

There's disagreement over the official spelling of some characters. Rather than renaming pages over and over, we'll settle it via a poll. I have my own opinions, but this is a democracy.
Here's the strawpoll for how the name of CIA's boss should be spelled:
http://strawpoll.me/5373745/
And here's one for the soldier whose name starts with M:
http://strawpoll.me/5373743/
We'll give it a couple of days and then we should know which spelling the community prefers.

>Adeline Wilson, alias Adeline Kane is CIA's wife and the mother of their three children.
Compare that to this:
In the script, Bane sets fire to Harvey Dent's picture[1] and alludes to a rebuild of the city. The changes to this scene suggest Nolan does not want to use the fire as a symbol of purification.

more specifically, having a wiki means creating a set canon, an orthodoxy, which cannot be reinterpreted, as explained by this anon >>55286.
for example, the flight plan. Was it filed it with The Agency, The Agent C, The Aegean Sea, or someone else.
Another Example: CIA calls Ittin (or is it Itin?). Who is he? Is Itten the pilot? CIA's contact? maybe he actually called Ettin, an agency that handles matters involving Big Guys?
They are mutually exclusive, yet equally valid interpretations. Setting up a wiki means choosing only one to set in stone, when keeping it as a tradition (in which the form can change like a rising fire) allows any to be valid.
In both examples the wiki has decided on a single interpretation to be the correct one. But what if the decisions were wrong? What if getting closer to Nolan's message is dependent on another interpretation, or the correct interpretation hasn't been figured out yet? Baneposting rises like fire towards the truth, but interpretations have been set in stone on the wiki, and unlike fire, stones fall.

No.82167
>>82149
On the subject of baneposting ever being 'normified', I've said it before and I'll say it again - it won't happen.
Baneposting is special in this respect. It's the only meme that continues to produce fresh content years after its creation and shows no sign of running dry, yet at the same time it's unusual enough to be impenetrable to the uninitiated (normies). Only those initiated in imageboard culture and with an appreciation for surreal and dadaist humour can ever come to fully understand and enjoy baneposting. The uninitiated look at it and might get a few chuckles from it but very quickly become bored - 'why are you still making jokes about that stupid scene? It's not funny anymore, move on, loser'.
They can accuse us of beating a dead horse but this horse is very much alive and still winning the meme sweepstakes.
Baneposting is eternal. As long as normie outsiders can't infiltrate it, it will never die. The eternal fire will eternally rise.
No.82170
>>82167
In fact now that I think about it, the closest comparison to baneposting would be loss.jpg from /v/. It's another running joke with a very small limited source material (a single strip from a comic) that continues to be made fun of to this day, in an increasingly abstract manner. Normies get a few laughs because lol dead baby but quickly move on because of their short attention spans.
I think that's one of (not the but one of) defining things that determines if a meme can move into the mainstream - does it have enough variation in the source material to allow the short attention span of normalfags to hold for more than a few minutes? In the case of baneposting and loss.jpg, no. They get bored quickly.
Rage comics and demotivators on the other hand are infamous for how deeply they penetrated into regular society. On modern imageboards they are despised and reviled, and you'll be quite rightly hounded out of a thread for unironically posting them. But normies still love them because the core subject matter isn't a single subject, it can always change, it's always something different.
No.82179
>>82170
Demotivators are a perfect example because i see them at university and even on FUCKING ARMY BASES WTF
No.82181
>>82170
loss is way to absurd for normies. some might be familiar to the "strg alt entf" comics and may laugh at the dead baby joke, like you said. In reality, the majority doesn't know what the fuck the strip is about. It doesn't trigger the lamps in their brain when they see the pattern, the same when they see a picture of CIA (Bane is a different story). But they are familiar with le troll face and others, so of course it draws their attention.
And still, with a little grip every meme can be memeized, and it's our duty to protect it from the cancer. just because the chance is low, doesn't mean you can rest on that.
