These are along the right track, but I believe all of you are to some extent mistaken.
It's a well established that Geese are repelled by the forces that would result from the close proximity of two metahumans; the constructive interference created by the waves that are emitted from their deep cervical lymph nodes would either result in the instant implosion of nearby geese or their transmutation into a priceless set of pre-Red October Revolution Matryoshka dolls. It's also well known why such waves are emitted by metahumans, but for the unaware I will briefly explain: they are a vestigial result of such nodes that are implanted by Jesus (Mormon, yes there are others) in order to prevent implosion during their gestation period in pressurized aluminum tubes which can also be used for the production of weapons of mass destruction.
Metahumans can not sense the waves they emit at a normal frequency, if they could they would almost certainly develop an Earth-rendering case of Fibromyalgia, but the wave propagation that occurs in the presence of another metahuman may vibrate their adamantium patella. Such vibrations were likely the result of the stumbling of the metahuman who identified as himself as "Sea Eye Ayy." See Eye Ayy would almost certainly have begun to sense the presence of another metahuman during the approach of the Masketta Man. See Eye Ayy (SEA) was well aware that without the protection of his geese that he could be overpowered by Masketta's Mans friends, which is why S.E.A. felt an urgent need to file a flight plan with the agency, because all of his geese had likely already been destroyed by the destructive forces of the metahumanoid wave interference and he required backup if he was to withstand the effects of the temporal merging. Temporal merges are the inevitable result of the aforementioned wave interference. The Masketta Man, despite his calmness, likely felt a similar urgency about the upcoming temporal merging, in which multiple realities would overlap with their own.
S.E.A. was well aware that he could interrogate the hired guns without opening the doors of the plane, he chose to do so because it served as a good reason to check for the geese he called for with the agency (and if he did not have a good reason for his actions he would cease to exist as his matter and energy was a direct result of the belief of his own men that he did, in fact, exist; this is of course assuming no geese were within 226.194671058 radians of his nodes.) His firing out of the aircraft was a proactive, and arguably brilliant attempt to prevent the disasterous effects of the temporal merging. Because the plane S.E.A. was travelling in moved the universe around it, it actually had a negative velocity, therefore he actually shot ahead of where his target (the Masketta Man's jeep) would be in the future after the overlap of multiple realities. S.E.A.'s quick estimate of the jeep's position was the result of a millenia's worth of study dedicated to trigonometry. His shooting out of the plane would also serve to ward off angry spirits looking to absorb the nutritious kneecaps of unsuspecting metahumans.
Masketta and S.E.A. were both mutally aware of the metahuman status of each other and elected not to fight and risk the chance of a destruction resolution to their time paradox.
