subject related, I've been using firefox nightly / tor for onion links on a tails OS (with a paid vpn obviously), but is there anything else I can do? Last I heard a lot of the providers for things I used have shilled out.

OpenBSD as an OS.

Tails only as a thumbdrive OS for using on third-party computers, not your own.

For browsers, Firefox with a few addons do the trick. (NoScript, RequestPolicy, GreaseMonkey, HTTPS Everywhere, uBlock Origin, etc)

Also, pay close attention to xombrero, a new light browser developed with the OpenBSD mindset. It's young but looks promising.

Any free VPNs to use with TOR ?

Maybe openVPN ? is this safe enough ?

Really you should go with IceCat as a browser.

I am finding it to be quite buggy on it's own pages?

 No.108358

>>108313

Does it need tor to be safe? Or is it good by itself

1) free vpn's == free party v&, get that in your skull before you go any further and stop assuming you're ever going to get anything "good" for free. 2) openvpn is an application. it's free. it isn't a service. a vpn provider will have openvpn configs for you if that's what you use.

Whats wrong with using tails on your own PC?

Even the developers recomend you to do that, it is even harder to track you

 No.108499

>>108413

using it as a desktop negates the entire point of having it "forget" everything.

 No.108508

>>108499

No it doesn't, retard. The point of having it forget is do you don't leave traces on the drive which could be used against you.

….you're a fucking moron.

 No.108522

>>108512

What's your point? That has nothing to do with using it on your own computer.
