Fucking hell, /baph/, I have been lurking for about 2 months now and I want to gas myself.

I used to go on the Hackforums (please keep reading, I realized the HF group is mainly a bunch of autists) and I attempted to learn methods of hacking, but they were almost always shit. They would provide a minimal lesson, and were horrendous at putting their thoughts down (leading to a clusterfuck of text that really had no meaning at all).

I have been lurking on here, in an attempt to learn the real stuff, but I am getting no where. The threads on here have almost no educational value, and I am too sp00ked to download a program listed because I want to do it myself and learn and not be a fucking skiddie, and I don't want to be assraped by a RAT.

So I bring my question to the based gods /baph/ in hopes for an answer : Where did you learn to hack? How long did it take you? Were the people you learned from fucking idiots that couldn't put their thoughts into text without having to take a break every 10 minutes to toast some jews then forgot what they were saying? Can I get any pointers to websites or references?

I am completely ready to devote my time to the hacking industry, and is infact the profession I am searching for later in life.

tldr: How did you learn how to hack?

k, so hacking is a very broad term, and it really comes down to what you want to know how to do. There's no "general hacking", it depends on what you want to do.

What is it you're looking to accomplish? What do you know how to do, right now?

If you know NOTHING and just want to get your feet wet, try finding public ip's. There's TONS of ways to do this, an easy way is to access public connections. Good places to do this are twitch, skype, facebook, chatrooms, email.. anywhere that makes a connection between you and another. If you can manage to find someone's skype name, you can often use a skype resolver and get the ip that way. If you want to put in a little more work, there's always netstat or some other network traffic monitor. This will require more work on your end, though.

Once you get a hang of that, you can start doing more with your new ip finding skills.

Read books on hacking. Learn a basic programming language, read about computer networks. Its going to be a lot of self education don't expect people to spoon feed you.

Your golden rule is good in theory, but pointless. You're worried about your IP being in an email that you've sent, but if you're connected to the Internet via VPN -> Tor or something like that, that pretty much eliminates any possibility of any technical security issue via email.

Besides that, OPSEC is going to become your best friend. If anything is going to get you fucked, it'll be something that you said which you shouldn't have. (ie. don't share your personal email, or something stupid like that…)

Ah, alright, thanks. I was considering purchasing a VPN soon, but I am not sure as to which one I should get, and if I should let Win10 see me connect to it. I will be building a new computer at the new year, and will get rid of this Windows 10 botnet. Does Tor censor your IP even through email? I never really thought about that.

Baph's sticky says to use Mullvad, which is definitely a strong choice. I personally use Cryptostorm - they're just plain awesome.

They have a libertarian philosophy akin to 8ch's, and only 3 rules:

1. No spam/DDos'ing (i.e. skiddies doing dumb shit with Kali)

2. No cheese pizza

3. No terrorism

Other than that, everything else is fair game. They log absolutely nothing whatsoever, and accept cryptocoin.

OP here, and even I know that all VPNs keep some logs. They can just have different meanings for the word.

you won't learn how to "hack" on an image board pal. this is something that will require an understanding of

1. operating systems and their various vulnerabilities

2. an ability to read and write some form of code

3. understanding and capacity to manipulate networks and servers.

4. knowledge of using ssh

5.time

i suggest you try "hacking" into your own box (boxes) before attempting someone else's (which IS illegal btw)

there are several linux distro's (and packages) that come with pre-installed penetration testing software. kali and fedora security edition are 2 that i know of but i am sure more exist. you will need to read the docs (documentation) on the programs and learn them. this isn't a video game, it takes work. read your mans, read online forums. test, test, test
