c12fa5 No.1803

Hello, gorgeous! Welcome to /beauty/

/beauty/ is dedicated to cosmetics, skin care, and general beauty discussion. Topics may range from something as simple as teeth whitening to more complicated (albeit controversial) subjects, such as plastic surgery. Content which is also permitted is fashion/style, self image, spa talk, etc.

Rule breaking will not be tolerated and those in violation will find themselves removed from this board. This place is not a hugbox, but we will not encourage trolling, baiting, or forms of needless antagonizing.

F.A.Q.

>Why is this board here?

This board acts as a means of peer to peer advice and reviews regarding makeup and skin care products, as well as other beauty related subjects. Discussion for such topics never really had a place back on 4chan, where certain boards could be subject to larger male populations, trolls, or difficulties with people complaining about it not pertaining to x or y.

>Can men post here?

Yes, everyone is welcome, as long as they stay on topic, and follow the rules.

>I don't wear makeup and don't agree with those who do. Can I still post here?

Technically, if this isn't your cup of tea then you wouldn't really have a place here. However, you're free to debate the subject of makeup (or other aesthetic endeavors) and it's purposes so long as it doesn't involve baiting, trolling, and general shit like that. You're free to disagree with someone, but remember that you're a guest in a space reserved for those who partake in this lifestyle.

>I don't like chemicals/hippie natural stuff.

To each, their own. Keep in mind that when it comes to skin care, it is a highly individualized process and boils down to the needs and preferences of the person. Some people benefit better from chemical products. Some people benefit better from natural. Some people need only use water and a washcloth. Discussions for each method are welcome, but creating pissing contests is not.

>Reddit's Makeup Board?

Depends on the kind of information. You can direct people to articles, videos, sites even, to complement information you already provided [out of your own knowledge], or for those cases where you don't know the answer to the question, either because it's too specific, because you've never had a concern like what the person is stating in their question, etc. I personally wouldn't cite Reddit, but rather use it as a source.

>Is cosplay/gyaru/lolita makeup advice allowed?

Yes.

>Is prosthetic discussion allowed?

Yes.

>Can I talk about hair care/styling/dying?

Yes.

>Corseting? Massage? Foot care? Brows? General body care?

Yes.

>Gainer/Thinspo?

Unfortunately, this is where I draw the line. We all know that there is a healthy way to gain weight (if you happen to be underweight) and a healthy way to lose weight, but extreme acts such as gaining to morbidly obese proportions or starving to skeletal form encourage dangerous and unhealthy lifestyles. These are illnesses and individuals should seek help.

>I have a question about __

Questions should be kept to their respective generals, unless you find that there is currently no thread for your question or your question is too specific. In that case, feel free to create a thread for it.

Rules

1. Antagonizing, trolling, baiting, and shitposting are not permitted. Being silly and having fun is encouraged, but spamming/shitting up the board is not allowed. Seriously, it's a board about makeup, don't be an asshole.

2. Men are free to post, but if you're just shitposting and not contributing to the board in a legitimate manner, you are banned.

3. Cruelty-free product discussion is permitted so long as rule #1 is upheld.

4. You are, of course, free to have your likes and dislikes. Everyone does. However, don't turn threads into, “I'm better than you because I use x and you use y” bullshit.

5. Spoiler any NSFW images.

Breaking these rules will result in a ban. If you don't like it, too bad. Feel free to go make your own beauty blog. Nobody is forcing you to stay here and none of us want to hear the 9001 quips we could recite verbatim about why we're so bad for our lifestyle. If you do not have anything to offer, it is simple: Leave.

We encourage you to not respond to any shitposting or trolling. Please report the thread or post if you see anything.

As always, global rules still apply.

Feel free to make a banner.

Feel free to post your questions or concerns below.

The concept of this board has potential, just not on 8ch

Oh, this was actually a really nice board with fairly active people and great tips and advice.

Then the creator nuked it after some drama between the other female boards. It tried to start over again, but now it's just pretty much dead.
