Funny you ask this as I went a bit mad on wit beers this month and was supping a Blue Moon and a Schnieder tap 7 last night. This is unsual as I am almost exclusively hoppy beers but am experimenting for bread flavours. I saw Saint Bernardus but never bought it, how would you say it tastes ?

Anyone else love this time of year? With the nights darkening and cooling it's nature's way of telling you to get the stouts, porters and tripels in! Can't wait to get me some Sam Smith's Oatmeal Stout for Christmas.

My local got in Augustiner Oktoberfest at the end of last month. Jaw droppingly amazing.

Had a bottle recently during a beer fest, but I wasn't impressed. It's rated highly so I may have got a bad bottle, but most Quads I've had easily beat it. (Rochefort, La Trappe, Achel.)

Yeah man, we been out with the dog today and all the trees are bronzing up lovely and i'm sat under a duvet; reading with a tasty stout. A little thin and a little too dry for me but that's just nitpicking really. Have you tried Sam Smiths Yorkshire Stingo? A little pricey for a SS but very warming I always get one or two for bonfire night standing round fires eating parkin type events.

Only one way to find out then, i'll just have to get a few bottles. I don't think I've heard of achel but i'm grossly unaware of European beers.

Grabed a bottle of Brooklyns Oktoberfest beer this week, not amazing in my mind very middle of the road beer.
