Consider:
Incandescent lightbulbs were invented. Although demand for lightbulbs was slower than candles, they still didn't last long. Bulbs would bust from unavoidable problems arising from continually heating thin tense wires and bulbfags needed to go to shop to buy more. There was money in it and one product was phased out and replaced by a superior one.
Then later came the spiral fluorescent light. Just as incandescent light is better than candle, fluorescent is better than incandescent. However, fluorescent is TOO good: They last so long that there isn't enough money in them to keep facories running. So the companies tried to hold it back and now give them kill timers.
So although the free market did replace an inferior product with a superior one with incandescents, in this case it deprives us of our superior product, instead giving a shitty version of it. What do you say to this? How do you suggest we get our non-nerfed fluorescents and respond to other such events?
