Rules

Rules

1. Follow global rules

2. Posts must pertain to business and finance.

3. No advertising/FUD/hype.

/biz/ is not free adspace. If you would like to advertise, direct yourself here.

https://8ch.net/ads.html

This applies to new businesses, cryptocurrencies, and communities. It doesn't mean one can't bring exposure to a new thing, but if a thread or post is blatant promotion to influence investments or purchasing of products then it will be removed. Additionally, if it is the obverse, to attempt to influence selling off of an asset, the post or thread will be removed as well. To avoid misinterpretation of intent, please substantiate your claims.

Even on more respectable subjects, if everyone starts making their own thread for their new start up, offered services, or store, it becomes less of a discussion board for business and finances and more of a marketplace. However, if there is a clear community effort towards something business and finances related, it can be an exception.

4. No begging.

This will apply to the obverse; "donation threads", which will consist of beggars or begging behavior, will not be allowed either.

5. Avoid duplicate threads.

A thread will be deleted if it discusses the same topic meanwhile the previous thread has not reached it's bump limit and has not fallen past the first page.

Check the catalog before creating a thread.

The page required for a thread to fall past may change due to changes in board activity.

6. No low effort or templated threads.

This will incur either a bumplock or short term ban.

Posting Guidelines

Contribute meaningful discussion.

Refrain from posting +1, -1, or similar.

Make intelligent posts

Note that low quality threads will be bumplocked then deleted after a period of time.

If you have a basic question such as "where/how/when to buy bitcoin" or conundrum that can be described in a single sentence, then it's likely best to do a web search and discuss what you found and how you think it's inadequate.

Research and think for yourself first, and don't beg others to do so for you.

Do not treat /biz/ like a microblogging platform.

One sentence opinions are often not worth a thread.

Create generalized topics (as opposed to asking for advice about your specific situation).

This will help other anons in similar situations find similar advice, and may evolve to a resource by cumulative contribution.
