/am/ Anonymous 02/06/15 (Fri) 08:03:20 No. 3486
So I made a new Anime and Manga board. A lot of people were complaining about the old one and no one was doing anything, so I made it. Come check it out.
>>>/am/ It's like /a/ but with less hotpockets.
Anonymous 02/06/15 (Fri) 09:20:23 No. 3490
I like /am/ so far. It's pretty comfy.
Anonymous 02/06/15 (Fri) 17:43:53 No. 3501
/am/ is an officially recognized partner of /int/
>>>/alliedint/32
Anonymous 02/06/15 (Fri) 17:44:41 No. 3502
Anonymous 02/06/15 (Fri) 19:45:47 No. 3513
>>3486 I don't go to /a/, but don't you think it might help if you were a little more specific about the differences?
>less hotpockets isn't exactly all that revealing
Anonymous 02/06/15 (Fri) 22:32:57 No. 3526
>>3513 if you went to /a/ it be easer to understand the mod deletes or auto sages threads that are on topic
i dont like shit series either but freedom is more important also they have a no shitposting rule but its incredibly vague and the mod goes into 4 free mode with post he dosent like
not op btw
Anonymous 02/07/15 (Sat) 00:33:20 No. 3533
>>3513 Basically
>>3526 People don't post on /a/ because the mods are so authoritarian. They just sage/delete threads they don't like even though they're /a/ related. Basically as long as it's somewhat Anime/Manga then it can be posted in /am/.
Anonymous 02/09/15 (Mon) 01:55:28 No. 3681
This board still exists.
Anonymous 02/09/15 (Mon) 02:07:10 No. 3683
>>3681 only in name lol
dead as fuck
Anonymous 02/09/15 (Mon) 03:25:00 No. 3692
>>3683 Awww, stop anon! There's been posting every day since its start.
We're a starting board. Can't expect everything to happen at once.
Anonymous 02/09/15 (Mon) 03:53:15 No. 3693
>>3692 you have failed to create a meaningful contrast to /a/ other than "less hotpockets"
it won't succeed if you can't do that
Anonymous 02/09/15 (Mon) 04:39:55 No. 3696
>>3693 Fair enough.
I figured the other idea was that it would be a community with a mentality different from the pretentious, status-oriented anime and manga fans on /a/. There are people who do not post on /a/ for that reason alone (myself included). But I can see why something like that may not seem like enough for the place to sustain itself.
Maybe if we had sort of an "anime club" aspect, in the way that
>>>/film/ has a film club? Like we could have a select series/season/movie over a span of a month or something.
Anonymous 02/09/15 (Mon) 15:45:30 No. 3704
>>3693 You have failed to entertain me with your self-important ramblings.

I need to be more relaxed.

I think?
Anonymous 02/13/15 (Fri) 09:30:09 No. 3840
We take all the people that don't feel like they belong on /a/. /a/ is far too elitist and ban happy that many people don't want to post there. Both our boards can peacefully coexist.
>>3681 >>3683 >>3692 Unique IPs increase every day. It even surprises me.
Anonymous 02/13/15 (Fri) 21:20:54 No. 3850
>>3840 It surprises me too. I've been waiting for it to die so I can have a place to dump RAW mangas.
But this is fine.
Anonymous 02/14/15 (Sat) 06:48:21 No. 3862
>>3693 not really
/a/ is full of stuck up ruleshits
/am/ is isn't
that's all the incentive anyone needs
mad as fuck aint ya
Anonymous 02/14/15 (Sat) 07:11:55 No. 3863
>>3862 The beauty of 8chan is that the community isn't forced under the umbrella of a single moderation standard. For a long time we've had a massive divide between "secret club" rulefags and "freedom" shitposters. Now we can actually split.
Both groups can have their own separate communities without bothering each other. Everybody wins, and yet there are /a/nons who get mad as fuck if anyone suggests /am/ as an alternative.
It's just like 8chan and 4chan. 8chan consists of posters 4chan was actively trying to mod out of existence, so why is 4chan so fucking upset about the existence of 8chan? Why is /a/ so upset about the existence of /am/?
Because they can no longer control what you say, and they're forced to realize people don't think highly enough of their opinions to put up with them.
Anonymous 02/15/15 (Sun) 08:34:08 No. 3921
>>3863 This so much.
I think moot, or the current admins, think 8chan is a legit threat to the existence of 4chan though. /a/ probably feels the same way, but I think /a/ will always exist because there's enough rulefags to have their own community.
I prefer freedom shitposters though
does /a/ ever bring up /am/? I stopped going there.

Looks like the whole site is about to get a surge of new posters.
When the inevitable happens, remember /am/ will not protect you from scary controversial opinions or rude people, but it also won't ban you for vague subjective reasons. If you want to get away from the heavily moderated safe space and just let loose anonymously, try a real chan experience.
