I left you a Bible quote banner on your board when I saw you'd made it to the top 25. Congrats! And I'll be happy to make you more, if you can give me ideas and/or source images.

Great job! The logo tattoo is a nice touch.
For the font, I use Tahoma Bold. Outlining text in GIMP is a mega ultra bitch.
>Type in your text
>Make sure the text box is considerably larger than what you'd need it to be (I hit enter and then tab to get the text far away from the edges, since rather than allowing anything to bleed past those edges, it just gets cut off squarely; precisely positioning the box where you want it isn't an issue right now as you'll be able to move the finished product later)
>Go over to the menu on the right where it list the layers/elements
>Right click your new text layer
>Select "Duplicate Layer" (towards the top)
>The new layer is auto-selected in the menu, right click the item immediately beneath it to select your original (when dealing with multiple text boxes, Duplicate Layer always creates the new text immediately above the old in the menu list)
>From the right click menu, select "Alpha to Selection" (towards the bottom)
>On the main GIMP window, where your image is displayed, open the Select drop-down menu
>Click "Grow"
>Choose whatever number and hit OK (I recommend 2, but play around with it and find out what you like the most)
>Now open up the Edit drop-down menu
>"Fill with BG Color" (assuming you do what I do and have white as your primary color and black as secondary)
>Right-click the duplicated layer (the one above the layer you've been messing with) in the layer menu
>Select "Merge Down" (towards the top)
All done! Now just position your text and export the image, which I gather you already know how to do.
