>fucking northern rail put the prices up again

I managed to snag a £20 there-and-back to London by catching the 05:55. How does that compare to other countries' normal prices?

South West trains (names for south west of london not the actual west) are ridiculously expensive because of london commuters and they always seem to run over capacity.

 No.94

Cheaper to fly on a budget airline than use a train to get to another part of your own country. Cunts.

 No.299

> TFW driver
> TFW the entire country is a few hours away.
> Leave whatever time I want
> No stops unless I want them
> No sharing seats
> No children
> No noise
> Comfy seat all the way
> No diesel vibrations
> Carry all of the things with me

Why do you poorfags not realise that using public transport is KEEPING YOU POOR?
Seriously. Long distance, car is faster and cheaper. Medium distance, car is cheaper. Short distance, cycle or walk.

The only time I ever take public transport is going into London, because it is fucking stupid trying to drive there.

 No.301

>>299
>trains are faster than cars
>trains allow you to sit back and relax rather than having to actively focus on the road
>trains do not require paying £5000 for the vehicle in the first place, and do not require paying for maintenance etc making them much cheaper overall
>can't drink and drive
>trains are better for the environment
>trains allow you to get off at the station in the middle of the city, wheras with cars you have to drive through congested areas and often stuggle to find places to park
bitch please, cars are a burden more than anything else. hate on buses all you want though, i fucking hate buses

>tfw spending 22 hour round trip on a coach to see the team i support lose to Southampton in a couple of weeks

 No.308

>>307
Assuming Sunderland or Stoke, id be delighted to make a trip down even if it took 11 hours and would stay as long as possible,

 No.313

>>308
I'd prefer to spend as little time touring the motorways of Southern England and in Southampton as possible to be honest.

 No.322

You've got the wrong place m8. You want Sweden.

 No.352

Went into Nottingham to check out a college

It costs £5 to park for 2 hours and £6 on the bus, though I don't know how you could possibly justify that since there's fucking nothing interesting there

It's like Somalia except you have to pay to get in

> Have to go through London to access most of the country, and change stations
> Train tickets are obscenely expensive
> Fuel prices dropping, train tickets going up
> Trains spew diesel fumes and dump brake dust everywhere
> You don't get cancer/frostbite waiting for your car to show up
> No taking a bus to/from stations
> No stairs
> Direct from home to destination
> Shit weather? Leaves? Ice? Can still drive.
