I've posted some things on some other boards, even /b/, about my views and have had some refreshingly polite and inquisitive responses. I only discovered the board just now, and I'll be glad to lurk and post here.

But yes, most of 8chan is very spiteful and full of hate. I often get asked why I come here!

I think there is no evidence that this is a place full of hate.

People here just say what the like. Sometimes out of hate, sometimes for laughs, sometimes for no reason at all. One can't expect to know the reasons that people say what they do.

While that may be true of posts that are a sentence, two sentences, or maybe even four sentences in length, posts which are in threads about major events, a poor product, or politics tends to expose the bitterness of some of the people here in 8chan.

The truth is, many of these people feel dejected. Their view of life is rooted in craving, whether it is wanting women to approve of them, wanting the public at large to agree with their beliefs, or wanting their favorite company to respect them as a consumer. Their syntax and word choice betray a feeling of desperation and insecurity behind the monitor.

Especially on some of the more active boards. /hebe/ comes to mind. Even the posters there that lean towards the "good" side still fail to see the bigger picture.
