Oh hey didn't think you'd be responding this quickly since I know you've owned the board since I think September. I was just starting the thread for others to post here so the board started getting more traffic. I'm pretty much a lurker and outside of don't avatar fag and mod anonymously I can't really suggest anything else.

Blade was fine up till he self destructed and you were one of his volunteers so I know you will do a decent job. You even said you'd hand the board over in a stream rather than self destructing and slamming the door etc.

I have one of the other GG boards in the catalog so if traffic starts flowing there I can redirect it here.

Also honestly you can't define a shill and trying to ban them all doesn't work. What we need to do is become a better community that ignores obvious shills. We also need to grow the fuck up and learn to ignore tripfags/avatarfags when they aren't being helpful like Swami for instance. No need to ban. Just ignore all the shitposting.

As a site 8chan needs to grow the fuck up and stop acting like a bunch of authoritarian assholes. Too many mods on various boards are letting the hotpockets and the e fame get to them. They delete and respond to any criticism made on the boards they moderate rather than just letting people say what they want. We're supposed to be a free imageboard damnit. Too many people are also enabling said mods and cheering them on when they ban people they dislike.

Also don't permaban anyone. We should have a cap on ban limits. Something around a day would be fine. Spammers can get long bans but that's cause they are actively ruining conversation in a way that is designed to destroy boards. Shills are harder to spot and could just be someone with an opinion that is not what the community has in mind. We need to either ignore or see if we can convince if we are not absolutely sure the person is a shill. We could also learn to live with dissent but that might be the most difficult option of all.

I'd prefer people to self moderate based on standards I'd go over with the initial community. I prefer only stepping in directly in cases of spam, duplicate threads, and so on.

That's fine. As long as you can provide clear evidence they are shilling/samefagging then I have no problems with outting them.

That's what I and most old anons would prefer. I don't know about the current crew that's cheering on all the bans but it just annoys me that this is what we've devolved down to since the exodus. We're basically reddit now and it pisses me off since I have nowhere left to go since a lot of 4chan has been ruined and 8chan's board owners just keep getting their panties in a twist. I kinda wish we could just setup a board with no mods/volunteers and no way to claim it and just leave it so the only way the thread can get removed is by mass sage/report so auto sage kicks in just like how it used to work on /m/ on 4chan.

I've had an easier time talking IRL than on the internet recently. No good forums left to talk about anime either that you don't run the risk of getting banned for having a 'bad' opinion. And you can't talk about that shit outside of the net so I'm pretty much fucked if I want to talk about any of my old chinese robot cartoons or muh korean drawn dykes. You can still chat on some of the old 4chan boards but you can really see tumblr has infiltrated just looking at the catalogs.
