Should we name our village after a saint?

I think we should have a distinct and conservative mode of dress somewhat like the amish but perhaps with a bit more individuality.

Post any ideas you have about anything relating to culture etc.

Puritan garb if you want a distinct style of nodest clothing, the puritans were also seeking to create a place where god was the law of the land. Also it looks pretty cool tbh.

Yeah, that would make a good template. I wouldn't be opposed to more individuality than the puritans though.

Is it true that they believed if they are not working hard then they will go to hell?

I don't know but sloth is a sin so they might have a point.

The puritans were an odd mixture of alot of christian doctrines that culminated in american calvinism. The principle belief was that humans were inherently evil and disgusting in the eyes of god, and that the only thing holding them up above the pit of hell was gods merciful hand. They believed that attending church was simply not good enough to not invoke god's wrath, but rather not only sinless actions but a sinless character, ie good on the inside and the outside. They took sinning very seriously and adultury would land you a immediate death sentance, so it is likely they thought you would go to hell for being slothful, but it was more about contributing to a community not being a wageslave like modern interpretations since the work day back then was like 4-6 hours anyways.

They essentially allowed amy altercations and other colors as long as the design was recognizable and not for the purpose of attracting attention to oneself like some sort of perverse peacock.

St. Andrew might be nice for a name although herman seems more relevant. Also regardless of us implementing a saintly name, we should fly a saintly banner. I was thinking something like saint andrews cross with different colors than the scottish flag, kinda like pic related. Or possibly something like the shetland island flag since it also is centered on a cross and looks pretty awesome

If were going to combine st andrews and st georges crosses we might as well keep the union jack in the corner and copy the basic style of the australian flag or the old canadian one.

flag obviously needs to use southern cross

That could actually work quite well…

Worth thinking about at least.

I was thinking potatos would be a good source of income, in america they average around 160,000 to 180,000 a year with a net profit of around 110,000 to 120,000 due to monsanto fees, taxes and paying of the land. I think since the market might be smaller in aus ( correct me if im wrong) i think we could make more and if we went into the land together we could pay off the debt faster to maximize profits.

It would be good to have potatoes, cabbage and beetroot.

Why do we have to add the saint before the first name?
