Ah, I'm so glad today's been declared a public holiday, that means I get the day off! Normally I wouldn't go to this kinda shindig, but on this occasion, I'll make an exception.

Assume I'm in a store, no good interior BGs and CBA editing atm

Inside the local general good store an Anny is preparing herself for a day full of selling… Or she would be if there were any customers.

"I'm so bored!" Anny mutters as she fumbles around, giving everything the cleaning they ha long since already gotten.

"I just wish there was a customer…" She lamented, finishing up her most recent clean, that of a teapot. "Some village this turned out to be!" She griped with a puff in her cheeks and a chill on her jacket-less arms. She puts the teapot back down onto the counter and moves off to continue.

*A cheery girl dressed in jeans, dark sneakers and a shirt walks along the streets at a slow, leisurely pace, a perpetual smile on her lips as the sun plays on her face. A small, brown leather satchel with a faded red cross hangs from her hips. She seems to be absently talking to herself as she walks*

Man, I'm glad I decided to come today, this is great! Lots of people out, the weather is nice, festivities going on… this is going to be a great day!

I wish to welcome everyone to the festivities today. I hope you will all enjoy yourselves but first there are a few words befitting my new position that I must say.

A Customer! Anny almost to the point of throwing it, puts down the mug she was in process of cleaning and fast walks to the till.

"Hi there" Anny gives as a friendly gesture to the potential customer as she sees her begin to lean on the counter with a beverage in hand.

"Just this, hon! Oh, and a question! Y'know what the special occasion is out there?" The customer tells Anny.

Well, with the mayors speach today i have to take extra precautions!

Standing behind what seems to be cheap light wooden table, with a sign that amounts to a piece of paper that has "Anny's Goods" written upon, is Anny.

Sporting a head garment to attract sweet and beverage lovers to her stall at such a day like today.

Upon the table is a half upon backpack and some rushingly placed drinks and snacks.

"Come get your Snacks or Drinks here!" She flypitches into the distance.

What am I going to do for the town and the people are two very broad questions that concern my entire time on the position and my job description. I can't give you specific answers so far ahead at the first day of work but I do have a general direction I would like to take things into.

The very first order of business for me is to get everything in order after the last Mayor's reign of chaos, both in enacted decisions and sheer paperwork. From there on, once we have a solid foundation, I would like to see our town expand, first in economy, and then in infrastructure.

As far as the police force, that is the result of the previous Mayor's paranoia, I don't know why you're treating it as something I've built up myself. The matter will be looked over along with all other things.
