Hello all, your friendly neighborhood Maya here, to explain the booru. As you all probably know by now, a booru is simply a massive gallery of pictures. This gallery is organized by a set of tags that are maintained by the community.

In other words, you lot are in charge of the tags. So I'm going to teach you all how we do this stuff.

1. Get an account

To edit tags, you need an account. A booru account doesn't need an email; just a username and password. Once you have an account, you're ready to go! Follow this link:

http://ccrp.booru.org/index.php?page=post&s=list&tags=tagme

And click on an image to get to work!

2. Editing tags

On the image, there will be an "Edit" button at the very bottom. Click that to open up a set of options. Don't worry too much about Title or things like that. Your focus is on the big box for tags.

Tags are separated by spaces. If your tag is going to have multiple words, use an underscore to separate them. Make sure your tags are relevant and correct, as well. And don't be too pedantic with tags either, keep them general. "high_heels" does the trick, "mayala" does the trick, and so on.

If you've tagged an image, and are sure you have all the necessary tags, remove the "tagme" tag. If you think some tags might need adding, keep the tag, and others will act accordingly.

3. Tags you probably need to know

Okay, so as you can imagine, there are some tags that will see regular usage, correct? Correct! Let's go over them quick.

"lewd" and "safe" are used to denote… well, if an image is lewd or not. Lewd in this case applies to outright nudity or sexual content.

If you're tagging the artist, then add "_(artist)" at the end of their name.

Always tag the characters seen in the art. If you don't know any characters, leave them and keep the "tagme" for someone else to figure. If after a week there's nothing, then feel free to bring it up with the board.

As it stands, this is a pretty solid framework for our booru tagging work. Remember, this stuff shouldn't be a chore. And it won't be if we all do our bit.

Happy tagging!

Tagging Guidelines

Once more for the people in the back, we'll just make sure we have a clear, concise post on tagging work.

Tag something as lewd or safe. While the rating system is in place, tags are also easy to search with, so please make sure to throw those in.

Always try to tag the artist. Add _(artist) to the end of their name.

Be sure to tag the work if it's not art. If it's kisekae, a shop, a screencap, then tag it as such! Also, if the work is a reference to one of our tabletops, or a canon franchise (such as Fate, Jojo, and so on) then tag them too!

For art featuring one character, use solo. For two, use pair. For three or more, use group.

And remember:

If you're unsure about anything, bring it up with someone.
