Hey all, I mainly lurk other boards, but figured I'd post here to show something I'm working on. I'm making a Latron Wraith from Warframe. Bought a 2x10 on Sunday and started sketching. By the end of sunday, I had a rough outline of the space between the stock and the grip done. I bought a wood rasp yesterday and started shaping the bottom of the grip and the round piece that connects the stock and grip.

I'll post here as I progress, but share your WIP! Let's get some activity back to this board.

Updates!

I punched a bunch of holes in the board with a 1" spade bit last night, then cleared out a ton of extra wood. I made a huge mess, but it's coming together quite nicely!

It's big and clunky right now, but the stock fits against my shoulder perfectly at the moment. I have my work cut out for me, but it's going swimmingly.

The proportions look pretty good. Isn't going to be heavy by using solid wood instead of some kind of foam or plastic? Is it going to have a shoulder strap or pouch to carry around?

I've cut a little under half the board out of it so far, so it's not nearly as heavy as you think. It feels like a rifle should, which is nice.

Update update!

I spent a good 2 hours with the wood file last night. I brought in the handle, smoothed it out, and started working on the trigger guard. It's coming together and I love it!

Which is really heavy. Heavy doesn't mean you can't lift something, heavy means it's uncomforatble to walk around with it for several hours. It's not an admission of weakness or anything lol

More pics! I spent some more time working last night. Shirtless, because I'm such a rebel. :P

I measured out how much I want to remove for the middle part of the rifle, and got started on it. I had to grind in a bit on handle, ruining my hard work. It sucks, but I'll live…

Oh, absolutely. The fine grain file is a starting point, and then I'll hit it with several types of sandpaper before priming and painting. I want to get the majority of the shape done before I do that.

Me and my ghetto rig. For whatever reason, I decided it would be a good idea to use a miter box and hacksaw to get the discs for the underside of the rifle. It took forever and a day, but I got 'em done!

Oh hey, another update!

So I decided to stream my build last night. It went really well! I had a couple people tune in, got a bunch done on the fore grip. I just have a little bit left to do on the topside

I've been away for a while. Oops!

A coworker of mine used to be a cabinet maker, and a damn good one. He cut a few wooden discs for me to use for the underside of the fore grip. I cut a groove using a routing saw, and it turned out ugly as sin. Seriously, it was bad…
