Meh, it just means the people who are religious are defining their religiosity differently from previous generations, which is not that rare a thing. The phrasing in the graph is odd since the article says people believe in an afterlife, not necessarily Heaven which implies a more valued answer.

Why do people do this? If you didn't want to swear then you wouldn't use such words. Saying "crazy" and "apeshit" both make sense, but saying "apesh!t" is just as vulgar as saying "apeshit". Seems silly to me.

Usually anti-zionism is more of a social issue for U.S. and European churches, having to do with the treatment of the Palestinian nationals rather than the type of doctrinal and scriptural arguments that are frequent in the boards.

I think it goes even deeper than people not wanting to be anti-semitic or whatever. Firstly, a lot of people just don't interpret the scriptures to mean anything negative about Jews or the secular state of Israel at all. Then, a lot of people in the evangelical movement think that Israel is actually the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy and that its a Christian's duty to protect and support it until God chooses to end the world, which requires Israel to belong to the Jews for that to even be a possibility (according to them).

If we leave ourselves open to the concept that God, through His Spirit, communicates and guides us, even leads us as He lead the Apostles and early Christians, then could we not also hear incorrectly and listen to the wrong voice?

If you want to get closer to him, read his word, the bible and show love for him by obeying his commandments.

One resource I enjoy is the shepherds chapel because they just read the bible which is really refreshing.

I avoid them and any other supposedly christian works for the most part. It's not due to any specific doctrinal error found in any of the movies outside of the Left behind movies. There are often things that bother me in some cases where the message or point of the movie seems to miss the mark but it's hardly ever outright heretical or of terrible moral character.

I might be completely alone in feeling this way, but mainstream Christianity in the united states/western world has become more of a brand which is currently being exported by this type of media. I tend to have the mindset that taking brand JESUS™ and making sub par at best media both undermines God's word and turns off potential converts and only gives skeptics a cheap laugh and producers an easy buck. Yes I understand how pessimistic that all sounds but all you need to do is look at various reviews of said movies on various review sites and find out for yourself.

Don't prevent what I said from you enjoying what you want to enjoy, and I don't want to come across as saying everyone working on christian media are bad people/aren't real christians. But I just can't bring myself to enjoy that sort of thing.
