Well since this board is pretty active now, I can aswell repost my post from currently dead (created by /int/, as more menetic-oriented) board >>/goodchristian/846
>>2538 Here I have mentioned:
>Also funfact about Goetia - What you know as "Ars Goetia" is just part of 3, "the Lesser Key of Solomon" is about Demons (and some Devils), but there was also part about Angels and natural spirits (like nymphs, fairies, etc, mediaeval monsters)
>I have not found lists of the other 2 thought. This, as complete thing, is the "Ars Goetia".
Well, I have found something related to the angelic part of it, here is explanation of few terms appearing there, as the thread is not literal to it's name and they only post "somekind of a prayer" (ritual?) with them mentioned.
(Original post here >>/goodchristian/846 , read it to see all the terms)
Those ending in -el or -on are angels btw, -im is a plural form of something.
Haioth - Hayyot/Chayot HaKodesh, in Jewish hierarchy of angels it's the highest angelic rank, means "the Living ones". They were described in Ezekiel as a chimaera looking creature, but are mostly associated with Cherubim (both Hayyot and Cherubim exists in Maimonides' Angelic hierarchy independently tho)
Methratton - Metatron, Voice of God, his name is of uncertain origin and meaning (just like Sandalphon's), check https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metatron#Etymology . He's believed to have more names tho, and there are more spellings, like this one.
>Iehovah - Jehovah, I am who I am (Lord). The closest spelling of original YHVH was Jahwe, Jehovah was created by Masoretes who added vovels to Hebrew (at least that's what I was told on religion lessons in high school by Priest), omnitting saying God's name in an accident they incorporated vowels of Adonai (Lord) instead
>Ophanim - Thrones (some see them as distinct), the Wheels or Many-eyed ones
>Iophiel - Jophiel, Beauty of God
>Elohim - Elohim - God (shown in plural form, gods), as God spoke himself in the majestic/monarchic manner (like European monarchs), other see these "gods" as angels in Genesis (so as in fact that angels have created human on their likeness, but it's a too-far reaching hypothesis, you can even fit Gnostic Demiurge Jaldabaoth as the devil who took part in the creation of the evil side of human, I'm not excluding the possiblity that some angels who have fallen later like in Grigori uprising took part in human's creation), as there's rank Elohim and Bene-Elohim in Jeiwish angelic hierarchy and angels were called by this title in the history (that what I was told by one Israeli, so don't take it as a fact)
>Aralim - Erelim, rank of angels, I think equated with second choir in Christian angelic hierarchy (or Archangels and Principalities). Means the Valiant/courageous ones
>Hashmalim - Rank of angels from Jewish hieirarchy, means Elektrons in Latin Vulgata, Amber in English, name of electricity (also in modern Hebrew) was derived from them
>Seraphim - The Burning ones, highest rank of angels in Christian classification
>Camael - He who Sees God
>Tetragrammaton - Consisting four letters, a Greek term. Means YHVH (Jehovah) as the composition itself.
>Raphael - God is Healing, God has Healed or Healing one of God.
>Sabaoth - One of God's titles or names is Jehovah Elohe Sabaoth (Jehovah God of Hosts), Sabaoth means Hosts, Armies, there was an angel Sabaoc mentioned by Frankish mystic/charlatan Adalbert. Sabaoth was also one of Gnostic Archons, who were either see as benevolent or malovelent type of Angels, depending on interpretation of sect (don't take >>>/fringe/'s view on this, they take the version where Demiurge, Archons, and everything related to them are pure evil, but it's not rly how historical Gnostics and even Christian Gnostics saw that), more on this there: http://z8.invisionfree.com/Megadriel/index.php?showtopic=367
>Haniel - Glory of God
>Michael - Who is like God?
>Cherubim - The Mighty ones, term derived from Akkadian, the Hayyots from Ezekiel are often identified/associated as Cherubim
>Gabriel - Strong one of God, God is my strenght, Hero of God, Man of God, God has shown Himself Mighty
