I suppose so, though they do this while accepting Jesus instead of believing pagan witchcraft. From what I know of them, their main thing is the avoidance of distraction and unnecessary luxury; so they will use electric tools, perhaps have one car for the village for errands, they'll use cellphones (albeit the really basic ones) etc. Its a temperate approach mixed in with a strong suspicion of any innovation, which I appreciate.

This. Of course sin has existed since the beginning of time, but I think technology has made it so that we don't have to struggle for survival or put effort into many things our forefathers did have to, and that has made it much easier for men to sin.
For example, the life of a neet would have been all but impossible in the past for anyone except the elite of society.
