 No.3467

Hey /christ/!

Me and a few of my close friends found ourselves in a bit of a pickle. Our church embraced faggotry so we flooded out with most of the congregation.

Oddly we came up with the basic of idea of starting our own church. (With blackjack! And Hookers!)

Problem is, we have no clue how to do that, sure we get a basic structure with a preacher and a few ordained members but as far as building up this church to a larger organization we have no idea.

Also church planting discussion.

What Church?

Better than doing your own thing would be to contact the actual Church and ask her for help and union.

Next you need an apostolic bishop. Otherwise you're just a social club that will die and never have further valid priests. That's what gave the final shot to Catharism btw.

You also have to be accepted by the authorities as a Church for which you will need a certain amount of members.

Next you will need some sort of hierarchy.

Even if you manage to do all that you are just schismatic. No good idea.

Why did you decide to secede from your former Church exactly? Jut because of their attitude to gays?

>Jut because of their attitude to gays?

I'd argue this is reason enough.

Considering the ease with which they left and the fact that the Church "changed its position" on anything, they're Protestants of some sort.

My money is on Episcopalian or Methodist.

Its actually the Church of England. Were in Canada, one of our members with the actual idea is a theology student. But I am the one concerned about structuring ourselves so we can have some sort of future, father then pissing in the wind.

I say do it dude. I've never done this but I imagine the first thing is to get your theology straight, get a small flock and start off in a casual meeting place like somebody's house or something.

Better that than sink money into a place and then have the whole thing fall apart.

Have you contacted another Church? As said you'd need a bishop which essentially means union with an apostolic.

> But I am the one concerned about structuring ourselves so we can have some sort of future, father then pissing in the wind.

Hands off of congregationalism and stuff.

Do you mean like a new church building, or a new church church with different name and shit

there 99% that the new believes in the church youre planning already are established in another church.

So, probably you need to have your theology tuned first.

Can't offer help to heretics but I will say I'm doing the same thing
