Says the white man who wants to belong to the white race, the black metal musician who wanted to belong to the metal scene, so on and so forth.

His quote doesn't make sense since he endorses patriotism and that doesn't make him a sheep for it.

That said, he probably doesn't regard patriotism as a "subculture", nor does he regard religion as such, since religions are even more numerous than nations.

Just my two cents.

Overrated. Worshipped by immature people who think art, their art, is the stuff because it's "what they really feel" and comparable truisms. Most people would benefit from less self-expression and more reading.

Nothing wrong with that: families, nations, race, religions, all are expressions of a desire to belong, and that will to belong has deep roots and always benefitted our very survival. If it wasn't for a desire to belong, Varg wouldn't be a white nationalists.

Varg lies through his teeth in that interview about the murder of that other nutjob. It's painfully obvious.

The guy is an attention whore, a murderer, a liar, and while he does have a few good points, I wouldn't revere his words as though he were some major thinker.
