>Aren't those books part of the bible?
Yes. Do you know what the Bible is and how it was compiled, or do you somehow think it was handed down to us by God Himself?
>you can hardly blame someone who doesn't know they are fiction they were written thousands of years ago.
Being ancient makes no difference. Many Bibles have an introduction to each book, to present the text and its context, but it's funny to hear you say that, considering you blame the very same people for much more than that, don't you?
>It would be like mixing historical fiction into the same book as the Napoleonic war.
The Bible isn't a book, it's a collection of 66 books in several languages, spanning millennia, combing law, history, poetry, letters, chronicles, and etc. Of course it's going to be extremely varied. The Bible is no easy reading.
>People will just have to pick and choose what to believe.
Let's ban that pik'n'shooz term, since everyone does it, you just like anyone else. It is possible to study the Bible and understand it properly. We've been doing that for centuries.
On this board, you will see people who can explain almost everything to you, whether I agree with them or not is another story, but they can. Try them.
