It says little value, not no value, and it's in comparison to Godly pursuits.

People at the time worked all day out on the field, that's heavy work, this naturally made people strong. You didn't need gyms until we got jobs sitting at a computer all day.

Because it is of little importance, so it would be counter productive to put emphasis on it.
