Has there ever been an initiative to make a large-scale "walkable" public Bible, in the form of a wall or maze, that you can walk through and read together with others?

Not that I am aware of, but I really like where this is heading

 No.6838

I dont see the point really.

It would be expensive and people will not stand for hours with their necks up high and down bellow to read the miniscule letters all crammed up with a dozen of peope trying to read the same chapter.

>dozen of peope trying to read the same chapter

>implying that many people would even turn-up to read it

I think as an artistic statement, it would be powerful. Hey, wouldn't be worse than any of the millions governments spend on "modern art"

Well the first day it would have 100 people trying to read genesis 1 and giving up at genesis 3 to go and read john 3 16

Honestly I think this will never be funded by the government, after the Oklahoma thing never.

> mfw I like modern art

Modern art can be christian art

Americans thinking they are the centre of the world again, when for real no one cares.

In Oklahoma there was some freemasonic copy of the 10 commandments standing in public. Police got rid of it because the state is not allowed to promote a religion in burgerland.

Unless I'm mistaken, I think the bulk of posters here are American, which is why this occurs. American culture also plays a part.

That's a recent phenomenon. States have been promoting specific religion forever now, just check out literally the entire south, Texas and God's Own State, Utah. They are full of tax-payer funded and privately funded religious initiatives, activities, parades and monuments.

Of course, the poison gets to everyone in time. It started with the liberal coastal states and now its running over to Midwestern states. nothing of value was lost though. Oklahoma is full of Indians and white people who choose to live like Indians.

Law that is not effective has still to be obeyed because it is valid.

What I mean is it simply was not illegal and still is not illegal in many places in America for the State to apply religious laws or get involved in religious displays. Its fine. The prohibitions have been developed in the last 30 years in blue states, and certain Federal laws and court rulings have curtailed some of the powers of the States.

Those states were not and are not doing anything wrong by having religious involvement, basically. Until the local agitators move to make it illegal.

Really? I thought your constitution forbids the meddling of religious and public affairs?

Federal law should trump state law in this case then.

I could be wrong of course. I'm not that familiar with the legal situation of nations in anglo tradition.

What the constitution forbids is the meddling of Federal affairs in religious institutions, which is to say "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press…(etc.)"

So basically, the Fed can't mess with religion, which was meant to protect Religious people from the government and now the Jews have flipped it on its head: to protect "the people" from Religions.

So this is why the State *can* and has make religious laws. Heck up until recently it wasn't illegal to have a law stipulating that you *had* to profess faith in "a God" in order to hold public office in several southern states.

>Federal law should trump state law in this case then.

This is what happens. Fed makes a law saying "All people are entitled to this". Doesn't mention religion, see just makes a blanket statement. Problem is, my religion (Let's call is the Church of /christ/) clearly states that having people do that aforementioned thing is immoral.

So now we have to either dismantle all our volunteering and ecclesiastical efforts or bend over and allow the Fed to enforce its "civil right" thing into our soft bodies. And all this without directly attacking our religion.
