Obviously it hardens their hearts against Catholicism and is therefore worse than a millstone. If you're going to convert by the sword, you'd better be damn sure you're getting actual conversions out of it.

I wonder what the other side says about this and if the attacks are unprovoced.

Shunning people and expell them, that's one thing, but burning their farms and leave them to starvation that's harsh. I do not think that this is a good idea.

I have the feeling that there are political reasons behind this.

As a mexican catholic, I weep for the protestants and other brothers victims of persecution, as I do for the misguided souls who perpetrated the crime. Unfortunatley, it would not suprise me if this was caused by fanaticism, but
