I think the test is fairly accurate. Of course there will always be some things that are out of the grid with every person, because we are individuals, but one can get a rather good idea by this categorisation.

I also have taken this test several times now with a couple of months between each time, and it stays about the same, so whatever it tries to do, it seems to work just fine.

Meh. These types of tests are a mixed bag of nuts for me.

I've always come out an INTJ, but I typically disagree with quite a bit they claim.

They say we're liberal - I'm strict hierarchical and traditionalist that wants to push back to a more rigid and structured society. If anything, I'm a moderate in that regard (I still want freedom of movement between/within the structures).

If you want me to change my mind on something or go along with something I dislike, you will fight me either with words or with fisticuffs to make it happen and I will not go down peacefully - I probably will die with my original opinion.

I also value social standards, such as chivalry, and worry about what other people think - which pretty much throws the entire interpersonal relationships part out the window.

But… as I said, a mixed bag of nuts.

> but I typically disagree with quite a bit they claim.

That's natural. Their text is only an interpretation of the setting inside of you, they cannot consider your surroundings which also influence you.

Not sure if it is clear what I'm trying to say. For instance

>They say we're liberal - I'm strict hierarchical and traditionalist that wants to push back to a more rigid and structured society.

Plays in fact perfectly into your profile. Liberalism was used as a way of soft revoltin the past, the liberals wanted to change the world that they were in. Essentially they were edgy teens and their movement a mean to seperate them from the status quo.

What you are describing is exactly the same. Nowadays that Liberalism has essentially one, the most edgy thing to be is a tradtionalist.

It's practically a horoscope with positive traits for everyone. I might have similar labels for people, but I don't like basing career choices off the gross simplifications of psychologists.

Not trying to be combative, but I think you're the one not understanding what they're saying (which, I admit, is acting right in line with their profile).

They're saying that the INTJ will pretty much always seek out more liberties and freedoms in order to remain an independent body.

It's not about edginess, it's about being free to pursue their own path and do their own thing.

I, on the other hand, am - as I said - a strict traditionalist. I believe that humans are not responsible enough creatures to govern themselves and need a structured society with clear cut boundaries to function properly… honestly, I'd [almost] be pleased if they brought back stoning!

So, yes, they're correct in that I'm they type that is pushing for what I see as a more perfect world, but the how is wrong. I'm pretty much only moderately liberal, not extremely liberal.

>>7594

At this level, it pretty much is.

The more… complicated versions are a lot harsher. Those are the ones that, say, the major governments use.

I know the US Military holds that their 'INTJ' types (their system is a lot wider) will be problem cases with their superiors and will probably never listen to orders, among several other things.

But really, at this level it's mostly just for fun and to laugh at how right/wrong they are.

I believe in helping the meek and lowly.

I hardly call feminists meek or lowly.

> fisticuffs

Yes, a fistfight with a touch of honor to it.

What's it to you?

 No.7666

>>7631

do you think its chivalrylike to go into fistcuffs?

 No.7680

>>7666

Most certainly!

A match in the ring (whether physical or decided on) like gentlemen is sometimes the most appropriate way to settle disputes, with honor!

 No.7686

>>7680

Dont you think that there are more civilized ways to settles disputes?

 No.7726

>>7686

This type of thinking is what gives modern people the belief that the best way for a man to settle a dispute with another man is to hand him your wife to use as he pleases.

It's also what generates the modern emasculate man who cannot stand up for himself (or his wife) and will bow down before the knee of Satan whenever commanded to.

There is nothing wrong with a good and clean fight between gentlemen (and then retiring for drinks and brotherhood afterwards for good measure); there is nothing wrong with literally standing up and fighting for what you believe in!

Forgot my flag. I'm the INTJ that was criticizing the system and speaking of fisticuffs.

This is confusing and alienating to me because for the first time ever, one of these tests got it wrong

I'm normally rated a marginal ENTP or full-on INTP, which is pretty good being aligned to St John of the Cross. (I've no idea about St Cranmer. You mean the English Reformation guy? How can be sainted if he's not Cathodoxy?)

I mean this:

>They love … spotting discrepancies between statements could almost be described as a hobby, making it a bad idea to lie to an INTP. This makes it ironic that INTPs' word should always be taken with a grain of salt – it's not that they are dishonest, but people with the INTP personality type tend to share thoughts that are not fully developed, using others as a sounding board for ideas and theories in a debate against themselves rather than as actual conversation partners.

… is this autist ALL OVER!

So, imagine my shock when this thing figures me for an INFP

I've never been close to being an F in aaaaaall the times I've done these Myers-Briggs tests. What the flaming furdhurlers?! A furking hippy?!

Anyone, nice thread. I'd never see this sort of thing on that other board. I'm sure it'd get banned for including "St." Cranmer alone.

I got a different result than normal, too. I'm usually INTJ, but on this one, I was INTP. Not sure what that's about. Maybe I've changed since I last took it? Or maybe the test is a little off.

BOXING didn't even reach its height until after WW2.

 No.8246

>>8181

>>8245

Also, it was the romanticism of war that supposedly died after WWI, despite the fact that many nations carried it on until well after WW2 as well (the USA included).

If the romanticism of fighting in and of itself were to have died, there would be no non-self-defense/military martial arts groups out there anymore.

In fact, the only reason why Swordplay and such are still practiced (SCA style) is because of the Romanticism of it all.

This is odd considering I normally end up as INTJ.
