This syncretic doomsday Japanese cult drew from the Bible and Buddhist scriptures.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shoko_Asahara#Early_years

The founder also decided he was Christ, stockpiled weapons, turned his church into a terrorist orgnaization and released nerve gas in Matsumoto, and on a Tokyo subway. I'm curious as to what exactly he sourced from the scriptures, but he seems to have used the mark of the beast as justification to murder anyone who opposed him.

your point?

>asahara outlined a doomsday prophecy, which included a World War III instigated by the United States.[15] He described a final conflict culminating in a nuclear "Armageddon", borrowing the term from the Book of Revelation 16:16.[16] Humanity would end, except for the elite few who joined Aum.[16] Aum's mission was not only to spread the word of "salvation", but also to survive these "End Times". Asahara predicted Armageddon would occur in 1997.[16] He called the United States "The Beast" from the Book of Revelation, predicting that it would eventually attack Japan.[16] He also saw dark conspiracies everywhere promulgated by Jews, Freemasons, the Dutch, the British Royal Family, and rival Japanese religions.[17]

Buddhist and Christian scriptures can be interpretted to create Islam-tier terrorism.

really?

do you think that buddhism and christianism are in any way on the same level of terrorism as islam?

are you a secret muslim?

Well it's a difference of frequency, not severity. Aum Shinrikyo wanted to precipitate a nuclear war/WW3, and are some of the only terrorists that have used chemical weapons (on civilians too.) Terrorism doesn't get much worse than that, and they actually were influenced by the bible.

As can your local newspaper pal

In fact I regulary feel like going on a killing spree after reading my local marxist newspaper :^)

I never heard the Vatican calling for terrorist action. Also mind the just war image in the other thread.

There are no verses in the bible or buddhist writings commanding believers to wage holy war against unbelievers. However that exists in islamic writings.

Now you could take any text to mean anything. I can take your post to mean that i should shit on the floor and then smear it on the walls. That's retarded though. If you cannot see that distinction I don't know what to tell you.

No happiness in life is greater than Heaven and no suffering in life is greater than Hell. Jesus makes this very clear and even instructs his disciples to maim themselves to prevent sin.

Therefore if a christian sees a sinner then no level of cruelty is off-limits to save the sinner's soul.

Of course, Jesus also makes it clear that no mortal has the right to judge others especially in regards to divine matters. Otherwise they themselves will be judged by the same standards.

However, altruism and self-sacrifice are big things in christianity. What greater kindness is there than to damn oneself to save another? Is that not the most christian thing to do when Jesus did exactly that?

Most christians don't interpret it that way and thankfully you are not that kindhearted. But it does show one way that The Bible can be interpreted as something Islam-tier, and sadly it has actually happened many times in the past.

so put islam in the same sackcloth as christianity?

christian radicals today : dot want to bake a cake for some wedding

muslims radicals today : they throw homos out of buildings

makes sense

Did I say that?

Or did I just say that with the right interpretation you guys have the potential to be as evil as muds?

'Cause I'm pretty sure I said the latter. And there are plenty of real radical christians running around today.
