Why/christ/ ?

I figured that new anons who would come here will inevitably ask why there should be two christian boards on 8chan. A completely legitimate question in my opinion.

Therefore I tried to sum up the happenings that have lead to the founding of /Christ/. I see that this does not have to be the reason why the individual anon is here but it is the reason that this board exists. I also acknowledge that this summary can only describe the event how I experienced them and thus I do not claim that my version here is the only truth. Pls contribute and tell your story if you have experienced it differently.

While I agree that unsourced png/jpeg files are the best argument to prove your point I have provided sources for each picture so that no one has to take my word for anything.

If only a single anon can be convinced to staying here because of this I am more then satisfied. But tbh it was very funny to follow these old conversations anyway.

Best Regards

I haven't read the image yet, but I can already tell you why two boards exist: /christ/ is rougher than /christian/ in terms of content, while nicer in terms of anon-relations (we aren't many so far, so this is arguably easier to manage).

Check our banners, you'd never see them on /christian/ and I think both chans have their place. I'll respond more after I read your piece.

Woah, this is brilliant. I can't imagine the patience you had to use to go through all this stuff, but I admire the effort.

I'm not so sure about the signature though, because, to a third party, it would seem as though this crap was taking place on /christ/. Just a thought.

Great job nonetheless. I have myself not seen these threads before getting involved in my awkward little way.

What bothers me a lot is how this mod uses religious terms about chan moderation… Talking about carrying your cross for a ban, and respecting authority and whatnot. I'll make borderline banners here for reasons we all know, but I would feel bad banning someone and saying such a thing.

It's a chan. Mods who insist that their bans must be respected just makes me roll my eyes. It's the Internet, if you can evade a ban, you're not banned anymore, period. It's like the police running after escapees, saying "BUT YOU'RE IN PRISON ANYWAY SO STAY THERE OK?" I just laugh.

I'll keep reading. I remove my comment on the signature, as the archive shows the origin very clearly.

Nah, it makes sense in context. It's little Genesis. Complete with sneaky serpent, forbidden fruit, and getting expelled from Eden after it turned crap.

This is what really gets my goat: people who rush to judgement without thinking that something could actually be quite good, and I've seen a lot of it on /christian/

I reflexively think it's Christian Moralism at work, but I don't know whether that is true or not.

I'm with Venezuelanon: I've known plenty of Catholics who are brothers/sisters, albeit in their own fashion – and maybe he could have said that – but there IS idolatry in South America and there IS a huge problem with CINOs in South America… saying so is hardly a ban-able offense.

Well, I think this is it for me.

I could deal with the CathOrtho-hegemony, the anti-mormon stuff, the random unjustified bans; but I gots to get my anti-semitism on somehow.

Oh well, it was fun.

kek we should show this to /pol/ :^)

I am sure like half of the board would be quite iritated of this ban

Great idea. Desubong can you make up an arbitrary/easy to interpret in any way it fits you code of board rules we have to follow too please? I think it could really help with…uh…stuff… it would be good.

I mean, it would likely just get used as "further evidence" that Christians are Jew-cucks, and I don't want to participate in that.

I know most men in that board are good, Christ-following men and they are just as anti-semitic as any righteous man ought to be; it was just that one mod.

At the risk of /christ/ turning into the /christian/-administration and mod policy protest board, I submit to you the [pic related].

If even one anti-Catholic thread was created, that's a ban… but this…. you're posting too many

I don't mind debating ideas, but … this?

No I have seen anti catholic, or rather pro prottie threads there regulary.

Was the thread opened more than once? If so it is understandable to delete it, banning, and then so long, is quite harsh though.

/int/ absolutely has too many rules for a place which was created (and claimed to be) a sanctuary for Freedom, Liberty and the Pursuit of Memes. Rulecuckery isn't objective or a standard, its a relative, naturally occurring phenomenon which destroys boards and follows a pattern.

1.Board gets made for purpose X

2. Slowly builds up posters

3. Popularity rises, culture still flexible and true to purpose

4. Immigrants (among them, rulecucks) arrive, culture begins to change

5. More mods are added, more hands on deck, more bans being handed out

6. Rulecucks begin to dominate the culture, calling for this and that to be banned, Mods respond affirmatively

7. Resistance happens, but Mods side with cucks, schisms and exoduses ensue

8. Board is effectively deviated from intended purpose and succumbs to rulecuckery.

I've seen this over and over and over. Even a Board that is clear in purpose and tries to always do right, may become an echo-chamber when the rulecucks howl, and the Banning flame burns bright.

Don't assume this means every board has to be /int/ or /goodchristian/, it means that I'd prefer boards remain as they were originally meant to be rather than becoming unfriendly, rigid and unproductive places like we've seen before.

How much longer before people get fed up with this stuff?

I'm the OP of that thread (you can see my protest of my ban near the bottom).

I might be here to stay depending on how the BO controls the vol who banned me and others for "smelling like pol" and other strange reasons.

Good, you ought to. We could use the posters and I'm sure if you enjoy speaking freely and being able to converse without the fear of unjust bans, you'll like it here.

We say what we like here, no matter who gets rustled (though its silly to get mad on the internet).

>I might be here to stay depending on how the BO controls the vol who banned me and others for "smelling like pol" and other strange reasons.

Before we left we made an IRC with the mods where they basically just said that everything they do is fine.

It is not like this would be one mod and all else is dandy.

This is just how they think a board should be moderated.

Maybe I overstepped my bounds by asking that.

Seems like a silly reason to ban, though.

 No.2908

>Maybe I overstepped my bounds by asking that.

Yeah you really didn't . But that's the thing over there, there's what the rules say and then there's the culture that's pretty ok with the mod making his own views law so long as its directed towards people the base dislikes.

>>2882

I noticed that. We'll see what happens. I've no doubt a lot of people there are actually pretty ok with it, and they dislike the idea of even having to interact or share the same space with people they might deem below them, but every now and then something like this will happen, and I theorize that without any target for their anger its only a matter of time before this gets the board to lose people.

I mean, anti-/pol/ attitude in a board essentially made up of /pol/acks? Come on.

Glad someone gets it. Some of my little creations were intended as funny in an edgy way, but this one was not amongst them. It never occurred to me that this could be a mocking of Christ. I saw it was an exaggeration on the Crucifixion to compensate for the fact that we are all so accustomed to seeing Christ crucified that we forget the intensity of it, and the pain of it.

I once had a Mormon friend, she literally gave me the TRIPLE COMBINATION, which my dad thought was a DVD boxset of action movies.

Yeah, there's an LDS general if you ever feel like talking about Mormon things. Mind you 40% of it reads like TOM's Dear Diary but there's some interesting things there, to me at least.
