Christian 'prophet' loses buttocks to hungry lions while doing 'God's bidding'

A Zion Christian Church prophet thought he was filled with the Holy Spirit when he charged at a pride of lions at the Kruger National Park.

A Zion Christian Church 'prophet', who claimed to be filled with the Holy Spirit, decided to challenge lions at the Kruger National Park, South Africa, to a battle.

Alec Ndiwane, a resident of Pretoria, was at the park with fellow church members, when he went into a trance and began speaking in multiple tongues, according to GhanaWeb.

The prophet and his colleagues were watching the animals when this happened. The lions were busy munching on their prey, when Ndiwane thought himself possessed opened the safari car door and ran towards the pride. It's no surprise that the lions felt threatened and took up the prophet on the challenge. Soon Ndiwane realised what was happening, and quickly turned around to run away. Unfortunately, the lions were faster and one of them reached close enough to snap her paws on him. Ndiwane sustained injuries to his buttocks.

The accompanying ranger is said to have fired his gun to scare the lions off and rush Ndiwane to the hospital where he underwent emergency surgery, said the report.

"I do not know what came over me," Ndiwane confessed. "I thought the Lord wanted to use me to show his power over animals. Is it not we were given dominion over all creatures of the earth."

>nothing to indicate that God was involved in anyway

>possibly entered a fugue state

This barely qualifies as news

It's news because the subject line was MEANT to illicit that feel when you feel lead by the Holy Spirit to do something only it turns out that maybe that wasn't actually so and you've just made a massive fool of yourself… or, in this case, got your ass bitten by a lion

Sounds like a heretic to me.

>speaking tounges

Nobody will be speaking any tounges until they are delivered up to the anti-Christ when gods chosen will communicate to the world.

Tounges will be a language that everyone in the entire world will understand.

If it comes out totally unintelligible, sounding like someone literally choking on their tounge, it's complete heretical nonsense.

Thou shalt not put the Lord thy God to test!

It's that freaking simple!

>tongues of men and of angels

>of angels

Been speaking angel-languages lately, m8?

I contend that he didn't:

>"I thought the Lord wanted to use me to show his power over animals."

To have put the Lord God to the test would be to have leapt from the jeep shouting "God, save me! Prove your love for me!" This is what Satan was tempting Jesus to do, to willingly fall from the temple top and expect God to save Him, and He rebuked the enemy for suggesting it.

This guy truly believed he'd been told to do it. ("I thought the Lord wanted…") Yeah, he came to his senses afterward, but he didn't go in willfully daring God.

And that was my point: sometimes we do things thinking we are lead by God's Spirit to do them only it was someone else, or our imagination if you believe that, whispering. If we leave ourselves open to the concept that God, through His Spirit, communicates and guides us, even leads us as He lead the Apostles and early Christians, then could we not also hear incorrectly and listen to the wrong voice?

Or do people honestly believe all those thoughts in your head are purely yours?

I was seeking some discussion on this idea.
