You can pray for a partner, but with humility. You must assent to God's will, and learn to make peace with it. It's not always easy, obviously, but the thing about prayer is it changes us too. God enlivens us and renews us.

Yes, it's absolutely okay to pray for a gf. Even if you're not ready for one. God isn't some tool that you can accidentally misuse.

But that doesn't mean you'll get one, at least not on your preferred timing. God's plan may differ from yours. You may need to grow first before you're ready for the right kind of girl. Maybe the right kind of girl isn't ready for you yet. In any case, your focus should be on seeking God's will, obeying and serving Him in every area of your life, and on becoming a better and better man of God.
