lads is it true?

is christianity really Polytheistic and not Monotheistic?

No. This is what Muslims and Jews say. We are not. The trinity is the same God. The father, son, and holy ghost do not contradict one another. They are the Trinity. They are one.

didn't watch that but I assume you mean the trinity

the old testament hebrews were the only real monotheists who knew the father and worshiped the father properly, and jesus was the last of them.

>John 4:22 You adore that which you know not: we adore that which we know; for salvation is of the Jews. 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true adorers shall adore the Father in spirit and in truth.

Not all israelites had clear concept of God's attributes. Also, El means mighty, so the Elohim that were mentioned in the bible weren't possibly meant to be the polytheist Elohim.

I don't think it mentions the trinity

212b1f No.259382

Given that the evidence holds, I’d argue on the case of God revealing himself gradually to the Israelites over the course of time, for not even the Israelites at that point had any concept of such things as the Trinity until after Christ’s death. That a religious concept had to be present from the very dawn of time to valid is to a degree inaccurate, as if that was the case the only “true” religion would be something like Hinduism or Animism.

As for his claims of the Old Testament being edited, if they're true I'd I’d still say that God gradually revealing his nature over time is a valid explanation for this, and that those who supposedly edited the original copies of the Old Testament were still divinely inspired.

Hinduism has some gods from the Elamite religion of pre-Hindu Pakistan/India.

I think God started things much closer to what he wants and kings deified themselves and their ancestors and started screwing it up around the third dynasty of Sumer. Abraham probably got ran out of town for trying to restore things. closer. I base this on Adam and Seth being deities in Egypt (Atum and Set) but mere humans in Genesis.

The Elish Enuma is the oldest non-biblical creation myth of El, BUT only one of the earliest copies calls him El rather than Marduk, and the other more complete ones sound like a Zues and the Titans epic so it is likely twisted by Hellenizing Greeks.

>Genesis was written in the predominant cultural context of its time, which was polytheistic

>this is somehow proof for Christianity being polytheistic

83cac4 No.259538

>this polytheistic culture has a creation myth that is similar to the book of Genesis, therefore christianity is polytheistic

Kek.

All civilizations live on planet Earth, and there are some features that are common to most or all areas of the planet. It shouldn't be a surprise that two different cultures had similar myths or religious concepts.

For example, snakes are recognized as enemies in basically every religion in the world, not because those religions are copies of each other, but because snakes are very widespread throught the planet and are very deadly.
