Would it be blasphemous to clone Jesus Christ using genetic samples from relics? Generally, there are a few that MAY be his: for example, the nail encased in the Holy Lance/Spear of Longinus, or the vial of blood in the Belgian cathedral taken from the Byzantines in the Sack. Maybe even from the sudarium or Turin shroud: although the DNA samples are too fragmented for proper identification, there could be a method of 'filling' the 'empty spaces' in the DNA with filler (i.e. genetic information from other humans: as it is, this has been done with animals).

So, is it blasphemous? Would this clone have the divine nature of Christ? Would it elicit some kind of Divine response?

Just curious.

It wouldn't be Christ, it would be a clone only of the body. It would not be the son of God and it would not be divine in any way.

Thanks for bumping, friendo

Cloning would be important so we figure out what Christ looked like for iconography and art purposes. And to silence blacks who go around saying Christ was African looking.

Also it might be part of Gods plan for us to clone him and have him among us again. Ppl need to understand their idea of "free will" is basically wrong: things happen if God wants them to happen, our will is secondary to his

What a waste of thread space.

They could at least do DNA tests to see if these actually have the DNA of a Jewish male. More likely they are medieval hoaxes so you would just be cloning some Englishman from the middle aged. If you actually did clone Jesus you might be creating the Antichrist. It wouldn't be Christ since he is bodily in heaven.

do you really think that God would just let someone do this OP?

do you even have any idea what you'd be doing?

i am compelled to say that you would die if you would attempt to do this

Sure, why not? It's not like He has stepped in at any point in history when relics or churches were being destroyed.

Didn't Star Trek have Episode where their Klingon version of Christ came back Via cloning when it was on the air year ago? This topic reminds me of that episode.

>>259608

Pretty much this. It would look like him, but it wouldn't be him. Even if we gave it all his memories and such, it would not be Christ.

There was, literally, a book I saw with this exact plot. In it, they clone Christ and make the anti-Christ. It was at a book store.

4fc614 No.259807

>>259805

Why would it be an anti-Christ? Also, is 'divinity' something that can be encoded at the genetic level? Would there be a supernatural 'quality' to Christ's genes?

Can't tell

Which brings up another question.

We all know that Jesus was raised in a Jewish household. And Jewish newborns are, well, circumcised.

So the question remains: when he ascended to heaven, did he take back his… you know what? Or was it left behind?

I'd assume such an argument could be worth mentioning, despite the slightly… off-putting nature of even bringing it up. I mean, it may be possible that a genuine first-class relic of God himself somewhere on this earth.

Whoa, this goofy thread is still around?

OP, I think a more pertinent question given your pic (very good choice) is, is Maria-sama ga Miteru the most Christian anime, even with the yuri in full bloom?

Off topic, but I can't get myself to watch anime, it's just overly exaggerated, to the point that you don't need to have any intuition to know what the characters are feeling cause it's thrown at your face.

I've tried several times though, but I end up feeling like a 20 year old manchild and stop.

I know how you feel. I can never get into Anime because I feel childish for watching it, even though there are some very good Animes out there that are meant for an old audience. I honestly don't want to end up like all those Man Children or Weeaboos.

Also, since were discussing this, I've always wondered what makes people interested in Anime specifically, or why people have 2D Waifus. It's always baffled me.

618c51 No.261643

The Catholic Church strictly forbids cloning of ANYONE. They'd never give up their relics for such a purpose.
