Here a topic I see as important, that most christians ignore or dismiss to sanitize christianity.

In the OT we know that God commanded the execution of apostates.

I know that it does not call them apostates but in principle it's the same.

People of Israel that left the faith and did witchcraft and idolatry, God commanded that we are to kill those people. (Leviticus 20:27; Deuteronomy 17; Deuteronomy 13)

The NT never spoke against this practice and we know that all christian denominations in the past executed witches or false prophets. So even the Catholic and protestant church admitted by its actions that those laws are still righteous.

Why do we ignore this past and law, even go as far as denying its reality when confronted. Many christians even attack Islam because of their killing of apostates when we ourself declared it a righteous act.

Romans 1:32. Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them."

Christianity is all about turning the other cheek. Love your enemy, like Jesus said.

I bet you deny evolution and think gays shouldn't marry as well.

Gays can't marry

Marriage is by definition the union of a man and a woman

I was just memeing, calm down, lets stay on topic.

My first post is essentially the reason why.

>most Christians ignore or dismiss to sanitize Christianity.

Most Christians treat Christianity like a buffet, its common knowledge, even most westernized Muslims do the same thing with Islam.

I live in Cuckanada so my experience will probably differ from yours, but I've met only one other Christian who doesn't engage in casual sex or pornography consumption, etc. Their excuse is always "Well, the bible also says not to eat shrimp/trim your beard/whatever!"

This is at an Orthodox church btw, modern society has dealt a horrific blow to Christian culture and behavior.

It means something, just not what liberals think it means. It doesn't mean sinning is OK, or should be encouraged or recognized by Christians, but it does show how to be a Christian is to suffer. Christ saves us from our sins, but we should still try to stop them because they are sins, but we do not get to fight against or judge the sins of others. Maybe it doesn't seem fair, and Christ will save the worst of the sinners, but we still should sin no more, which includes things like homosexuality and the other sins which some Christians are starting to accept.

Do we practice the same religion?

NO I just hate hypocrity.

Dont attack muslims for something that is not wrong.

Also if you read Deuteronomy 13 and 17 its not talking about witchcraft but people who changed the religion.

There is the ceremonial, civil and moral law.

The killing of apostates was part of the civil law. Which is no longer binding because we are in the new covenant.

If they are no longer binding, why did the churches burn witches and heritics?

I thought we no longer have to observe them?

And if the catholic church who has no theological errors justy the killings of apostates is it then not still part of christianity?

Why did the church persecute protestants and have war with protestant nations for not of the reason of apostasy?

And its not only the old churches but even the protestants who burned witches and warlocks. And you could even get killed by the public if you blasphemed Christ.

You can not claim they are not bounding but still justify your actions by qouting these laws that are supposed to be passed away.

You're going to have to come up with some proof that the Catholic Church actually did this.

According to Paul. And who appointed Paul? Paul appointed himself. His evidence? A vision that only he saw and claimed meetings with the disciples which have no independent attestation.

And it totally contradicts the world of the Messiah himself that he did not take away even one word of the law.

f3ad6d No.260583

Nonsense. Peter would not have acted on Paul's advice if it was solely based on a false apparition.

Beautiful. Going to a Catholic Youth movement in Ireland this week so I'll do well to learn as much of this as possible

In the spirit of C.S. Lewis. If the extent of your knowledge in those times, told you that there was a woman whom had made a deal with the devil, inflicted curses on others and targeted children, wouldn't you eliminate said threat.

In addition:

>WHAT HAS BURNING WITCHES AND WARLOCKS GOT TO DO WITH THE IDEA OF MURDER FOR APOSTACY?
