Because they are actually the church of Nice, as opposed to the church of Christ. These people often think being loving means telling people what they want to hear and making them feel good.

The church of Nice doesn't have enemies but its members treat it like a social club. The church of Nice feeds the poor but can't help someone who's depressed. The church of Nice wonders why it loses members left and right because the only thing it stands for is politeness.

The church of Christ doesn't care about social rules but, instead, results. The church of Christ cares about life and begetting life- not carnal pleasure. The church of Christ loves by correcting each others errors not about lying smiles.

So, yeah, church of Nice hates the church of Christ and your righteous anger.

I don't believe humans are capable of feeling "Righteous anger". God can, because god can feel perfect anger towards ones acts without it seeping into his feelings toward the people themselves, we can't do this, and our anger will typically lead to hatred.

We should keep our anger in check as well as we can whilst we take an offensive position against sin.

My thought was that Jesus was perfect so He always knew when it was right to be angry, while we are imperfect and although we can display righteous anger, we're still not righteous enough to have that right.

This thread speaks lengths to me. I am not a Christian (I agree with many teachings of Christ but do not adhere to them in a religious sense, just a philosophical one) but I have always lived a life led by anger. I suffered from anger issues as a child and had violent tendencies. I've always considered my anger to be a powerful, useful tool for dealing with life issues in spite of many psychiatrists and other mental healthcare specialists' attempts to curb my anger. I need to feel like I can stand my ground to make a point. I don't want to be a pushover and I want to protect myself from harm.

/christian/, I'm conflicted. I'm a naturally angry man and yet, I'm also a naturally kind man. I hate to be the generic "I can be a nice guy unless you get on my bad side!!" type but what is the worth in Christ's realm of someone like me? In the kingdom of God, where do I stand? I want to believe, /christian/. But I've always had a bit of a personal crisis as to what I'm capable of and what kind of person it makes me.

I would say my advice is that discretion is the better part of valor. Almost all instances of anger can screw you and set your goals back. It has purpose, but you cannot let it consume your or lead you to make short sighted decisions. Always plan long term.

As for your faith, it was the philosophy of Christ that has been my proof. Those who follow his teachings have a good life. They are frequently blessed with land and children and a good life, even a virgin wife.

Meanwhile those who do what is right in their own eyes (my parents) end up in a trailer smoking weed/Drinking beer all day raising a kid who isn't even theirs with a used up single mom.

I seriously don't care if there is a heaven. I am convinced this society of Christendom is Superior to the natural way. Is it a scam to make people be better citizens? Who cares, I love this society, and I hate the one I grew up in.

This is why I am convinced there is a God and he is our God.
