Chan-culture is internally divisive, and shit-posting is our favorite past-time. And I don't think that's a necessarily bad thing. Shit-posting can either sharpen your wit or at least loosen your humor. It forces you to take the brunt of criticism in a way the modern "safe space" debater would shriek at and ultimately toughens us up for a hateful, anti-Christian world.

/christian/ held a special charm for me, as some weird hybrid of my beliefs. I'm Roman Catholic and I'm a /pol/ack. And for the first time ever those beliefs got to collide and I could watch a shit-flinging fest on centuries-old doctrine in ways only seen on a /tg/ history thread.

But much like on cuckchan, one hotpocket can ruin everything and fuck it all up. Mods are not supposed to take sides, nor are they supposed to ban dissent. You ban shit-posting when it gets out of control(or at least ceases to be amusing), which he didn't, and you don't ban an Anon for smashing your argument, which he did.

Honestly, I think generals would of saved this board. One for Protestant/Catholic discussion, and maybe one more for Orthodox/Catholic discussion. Keep the shitposting contained there. And a dedicated nofap sticky. (like it or not, it is one of the more damning influences of our time) And a fucking info sticky for the millions of repeated questions.

Honestly, I just want to take over admin, set up some regulation, advertise to the other Christian boards, and then just be hands off as much as possible. Yeah, I believe Catholicism is the truth, but banning people isn't gonna sway them, and I'm not gonna balk if someone implies Pope Francis I might be one of the worst Popes we've ever had. (which I am starting to believe more and more)

I just wanna go back to shitposting about r/christians, fedoras, and paganiggers with some brothers in Christ.

All seriousness though, we should fucking refine vult-posting, crank it to 11, and just go full autism with it. Maybe with Prottie (witchhunter?) and Orthodox (also Crusader?) variants. Use it as a spam technique against dumb fuck OPs ("lol my god has hammer yours on a stick") or just for cross-board shitposting. It's the hatechan way.

A board's quality is entirely dependent on how much Autism is produces.

Maybe casual threads or quiz things, just fun things that can segue into serious discussion would have helped, might still help.

I find most boards die due to the user base. Most Christians i meet here are level headed with their thought and arguments considering both sides, the ideal poster. There are some funposting threads e.g. i saw a webm thread once but the majority of it is quiet serious and don't really care. Look at pol, some threads are taken so seriously it sometimes bores me then others nothing but pol brand memes. It's this balance of for serious discussions and fragrant fun posting that keeps new and old posters still on.

Bad moderation I'd say. We had a big problem a while back where people would spam porn pretty much every day and it would stay up until the janitors took notice late in the day. There were also quite a few people who got banned by "he-who-shall-not-be-named", prompting an exodus from the board to other smaller ones. As more and more people left, the quality of this board seemed to worsen. I'm not sure if we could get everyone who used to browse to come back, but it would be interesting to see if we could try.
