as an agnostic why do I like the idea of buying a cross necklace and wearing it around my neck?

don't.

although it's "just a symbol" to some it does have some meaning/ power behind it. I imagine Christians first started wearing them to remind themselves of their faith. A lot of people that i would consider not very healthy (pic related) parade themselves with the cross without truly caring about Christianity. People that do this destroy the significance of it and so they eventually loose some meaning.

Why would you want too anyway? since you are not christian like you said. Are you trying to show off how 'deep' and 'spiritual' you are? Do you take it to heart and deeply respect and care for Christianity? or are you just trying to accessorize,If so >>261082. I see people wearing this who would probably roll their eyes if someone mentioned Christianity or the church. If you do care about the significance behind it why not wear it underneath your shirt for your own reminder.

Do what you will but please consider you might be bastardizing my faiths symbol

Because atheists love to profane that which is holy

Not strictly a cross necklace, but…

>Blessed Alan relates that a man he knew had tried desperately all kinds of devotions to rid himself of the evil spirit which possessed him, but without success. Finally, he thought of wearing his rosary round his neck, which eased him considerably. He discovered that whenever he took it off the devil tormented him cruelly, so he resolved to wear it night and day. This drove the evil spirit away forever because he could not bear such a terrible chain. Blessed Alan also testifies that he delivered a great number of those who were possessed by putting a rosary around their necks.
