Apparently many of them are not even Jewish, ethnically. They're just evangelical gentiles LARPing.

I think the idea was originally well-intentioned but misguided, trying to convert Jews without making them feel like traitors to their ethnicity. Many of them teach unbiblical things now though.

true apparently one time when jews for jesus did an outreach campaign in a city to convert jews they only ended up with 12 people who were interested who were gentiles. but i've heard within messianic judaism they make a distinction between those who are ethnic jews and gentiles and many of the leaders are the former.

i can see where they were coming from but the fact is that judaism is very anti christianity and they view it as a micky mouse religion so very few are going to convert in the first place

Jesus was Jew, so do what Jews did at the time I guess. Whatever, but the word of God is like the final say, so any added tradition is what it is. I think that is what messianism is,extra shit. There also seems to be a focus on traditions that modern Christianity overlook, but that doesn't make you a Jew. I mean like you may Jew in some antiquated way, but now it means you disregard a giant piece scripture, that Jesus would want you to read " allegedly ".

Also if you join the messianics you dont become a jew, the term jew is most often referred to those that come out of judaism (religion). But it is also used as a race description, which is very inaccurate because many jews are not decendants of the children of israel.

First they oppose the modern christian traditions because they are often pagan in origin.

Second, they adopt the feasts of the bible whch jesus and the apostles kept. Evem paul mentions it in acts.

Third there are indeed messianics that try to act jewish by adopting talmudic traditions, but many messianic people oppose judaism and their void traditions.

Yes this is indeed a problem there, that I fight.

But because many messianic assemblys have been founded by "jews" they do "worship" israel just like almost every other jew, mostly because they look upon it as their homeland and the blessed land.

We had this discussion a few time here on /christian/. The fact is that the bible does not oppose it. Paul was even confronted by the other apostles in acts 21 by this topic and they found out that he indeed did not teach against the gential mutulation.
