Hey /christian/. I've recently been having a reoccurring thought, and that thought has been haunting me: the concept of eternity.

Somehow the idea of never-ending life troubles me greatly, even if I did manage to get to Heaven. The idea that eternity in Heaven would be monotony without end for the rest of existence. It almost sickens me. Granted, I definitely don't want to go to Hell, and neither does the concept of non-existence (something that scares me more than eternity of monotony is an eternity of nothing). I'm not sure what to do, and I've been losing sleep because this thought has been keeping me awake at night.

Am I the only one who has this fear? Any advice on how to cope? I'm honestly scared.

It's because you think 'time' exists in heaven.

You have the very shallow and childish idea that it's above the clouds with angels and harps.

Heaven (to be in the very presence of God, the one who created you, your heavenly Father) is the most blissful and glorious experience you can have.

There is nothing in this world that compares.

1. Time doesn't exist, time and space was created by God and only applies to this universe. God is outside of time.

2. You get a new resurrected body, incorruptable without sin. Can you imagine a perfect you?

3. You get to see God face to face and not die.

4. You get to travel the cosmos and see everything there is. You get to review all of human history (from beginning to end) and glorify God and His awesome power, holiness, righteousness.

Let me reiterate that time does not exist, you can't get 'bored' in heaven. Negative emotions and feelings don't exist in heaven. It is a perfect paradise and there is always something to do.

Heaven is beyond comprehention. It can't be described with words, it is beyond our capability of understanding. It is a different dimension.

Also, eternity will be spent on the New Earth (restored to Edenic conditions) but my point still applies.

you're not the first or last person mang don't worry.

humans can't fathom the concept of eternity and forever, we need constant distractions and fabrications to keep us busy. also who said you'll be the same person as your mortal state once you pass on to the next? It's best to not loose sleep over it. Much like an algorithm in a computer is something repeats forever it'll recognize this and forget it what's the point of fanbtising over the expected, do the same. That being said it's good you having something to make you want to stay on the path i suppose :y

Relax Anon. As God is constant in nature but infinite and unending in his glory, so too shall heaven be, since its nature is fully dependent on God. It will be wonderful and worth the suffering we endure in life, and it, unlike any pleasure in life, shall never grow tiresome, and never cease to be beautiful.

Combine all the pleasures of the world (sex, food, psychedelics, etc) and multiply it by 99999999999999999999999999999999999x.

Heaven is an orgasm that never ends.

The greatest thing is not the place itself, but actually being in company with God. It's like an adopted child finally seeing his biological mother for the first time, or someone imprisoned for 30 years finally seeing his loved one again.

We have no idea how we are going to react, because God's love, light and holiness is so perfect and overwhelming. We will probably be brought down to our knees and weep.

The reason we as sinners cannot see God face to face (like Moses couldn't) is because we would explode due to the amount of shame.

Besides all of that, Jesus Christ said that if you have seen Him, you have seen the Father.

Christ was God being incarnated into His own creation.

Imagine turning into a fish to communicate with the fish in your aquarium.

Or a computer programmer turning into bits of 010101 data in order to intimately communicate with his software.

>Heaven is an orgasm that never ends

Uhhhhh, I would hesitate to call it that. The glory of heaven would be beyond mere pleasures of the body in the same way an object would be more real than its shadow. We cannot simply limit heaven to these things since the pleasure of heaven itself is incomprehensible.

That said, there is a possibility for some of these functions to still occur in heaven, but they will likely exist in a different mode or form

i wouldn't take his meaning literally, more of an analogy.

We are not going to be living in heaven.

This is a christian myth that developed in the middle ages.

The bible says and prophecys following:

>You die you go to sleep in the grave

>then resurection day 1: where the just servants resurect to reign in the millenial kingdom

>then the second resurection, which is judgement day, where everyone shall be judged acording to his acts.

>earth will be destroyed

>new earth will be created, with heaven coming down fusing into earth.

>we live in the garden for the rest of our lives, not just being idle, but maintaining and enjoying this world.

But we will jot be bound here on earth we have the whole universe to discover, trillions and trillions of stars, planets, moons asteroids,…

And they all are in constant change.

This is fabulous this is wonderfull, you can do whatever you like.

I'll never understand people who think an eternity in Heaven would be boring. How does the basic concept of Heaven, being perfection, in any way allow for boredom? If you were bored it wouldn't be perfect and therefore wouldn't be Heaven now would it?
