do nowadays baptists exist in Europe?

the point is that baptism seems such an "american" thing

it's like when you watch those action movies, or reality shows where everyone yells.. and you know that the target audience is american.. and you just can't relate

here on /christian/ when you see a baptist post you don't need /int/ flags to know that an american (always) made it

you recognize them by the way they reason, they behave relating to other people

america is molded on baptism and (from what I can see here) nowadays baptism is molded on americanism

so, do European, non anglo baptists exist? are they different from americans?

as european orthodox and catholics are very different from american counterparts

an European baptism for me would like watching an European shintoist or buddhist (yeah well not literally speaking but still)

The pride here is incredible. You should repent and realize that you and I are nothing without God.

I have never heard of baptists until I discovered this board t. europe insider

There's a Baptist Church near me. They do adult baptism and don't drink real wine

>don't drink real wine

*fermented wine

>fermented wine

so wine?

In the modern sense yes, but I was just making a historical point about the use of the word.

I'm just autistic so don't mind me.

Are you implying that wine used to be unfermented or that it used to be less fermented?

6283c7 No.431484

>>431483

I was saying that the 'blood of grapes' which would latter become fermented wine was often referred to by the people as 'wine', or sometimes 'new wine.'

Saying fermented wine is the same as saying a brown negro or a dry desert.

He's one of those protestant sects that prohibits the consuming of alcohol and twist both scripture and history to fit their theology.

Grape juice was impossible to keep without letting it ferment, and frankly no vinyard owner would even produce regular grape juice even if it was possible because wine was valuable and nobody would drink some fruit juice as expensive to make as wine.

Way to misrepresent a guy before hearing him. Honestly you aren't contributing to the discussion by making assumptions about my beliefs.

>Grape juice was impossible to keep without letting it ferment

Which is why there was no word to distinguish the two states so they just used fuller descriptive language like 'new wine' or how Solomon described wine as "giving its color."

c12090 No.431489

>>431488

Because the concept of unfermented fruit juice was something weird to them they didn't even had a word for it.

6283c7 No.431491

>>431489

Well they didn't have a single word for it, but they used descriptive phrases like in Mark 2:22 when 'new wine' is used to describe freshly pressed grapes. As well as that the idea of drinking un-fermented juice was not foreign to the husbandmen who of course would drink of the new wine at harvest.

This phraseology is not used in the context of the Lord's table so it's irrelevant to the topic you're trying to bring up.

I realize you just want a fight, and its kinda sad. This will be my last post on the topic here.

New wine literally refers to the new wine of that year.

Wine could/can be stored for years if done correctly.

I just have a nose for shitposting after being on here so long.

In the book of Acts, at Pentecost, the passers-by think the disciples are drunk on new wine. So new wine clearly doesn't mean unfermented grape juice.

Guy with small vineyard-like thing on my house here.

Freshly made juice aka must is possible, and delicious, but it ferments really fast on it's own.

IIRC, takes a week before you start feeling a bit of alcohol in your must.

Then it starts turning into real wine.

There's a few here in Britain. Not sure how many traditional Baptists you would find, a lot seem to be Reformed Baptists and then onto Evangelical churches. Not like American Evangelicals, but similar. Not as 'culturally Christian'.

Poland

eab307 No.431860

I'm from Croatia, only 48 Baptist churches here iirc
