I regret the lack of dissent, though. I think it's good for us, especially if we mean to bring people to God.

/christian/ has become a place where I don't feel well anymore. If my beliefs are hated and considered heretic all the time, I don't see how I can experience brotherly love. Disagreeing is one thing, but dislike is another. I don't expect many to believe as I do, but that's OK. I wouldn't ostracise anyone else for differences in belief, since I doubt any one Christian has 100% similar beliefs on everything.

I had a few debate topics I was engaged in deleted such as on homosexuality as a sin. There was a big one on Mormonism where I asked TOM some questions about the creed that was deleted when I was banned, along with all of my other topics and posts such as on sharing Christian music, and defining Christian morals. I also saw threads on Gnosticism discussing the early history of the church deleted for being unchristian. And threads on the Apocrypha and Martin Luther have been deleted. I didn't start those threads, but they were good reads.
I think a new board should allow topics where some of us are bound to disagree such as those. You can't have a consensus about what is Christian and what is not if you don't allow debate about history, sin, and other sects. You can keep them as containment topics if you must, but all of these subjects define Christian belief.
I expect /christian/ would have a higher ranking if ordinary people didn't get banned so much and give up on it. I also think that if you do a ban and it isn't for spam, you should simply ban the person with red text. If you choose to delete a post, you should delete them by hand. Deleting all of a person's posts by IP creates huge holes in the board if you delete an active poster simply because you don't like what their beliefs were on a single thread and became emotional.
Every post and topic they created will be gone, and you won't know if you're deleting good posts if you're too angry to check their post history when you click delete all. Which happens a lot on /christian.
