I don't mean to be demeaning but, assuming that 100k would go towards arming chanada, for every 10 chanadians, there's only 1 or 2 good people at fighting.
Spending capital on people who don't know how to use it is quite frankly the stupidest thing. Putting in the hand of people who want to use it for their own gain is even worse.

I remember always wanting to know who Oldfriend is. He talked about his plan for months on end with no results as I see it. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say that 2.0 stopped his ebin plan from working.
He probably gave up since the last time he posted was last year.
No.36291

It was JPEGz
His big plan was most likely something to do with Mir's incursion within Chanada. We'll probably never know for certain, but his wealth and meddling with us came to an abrupt end after that.
No.36296
>>36290
>>36291
Oldfriend was Jpegz. My best guess with his 'plan' is as follows:
1. He planned to use Mir's incursion to weaponize us. There is no question that Mir was a test of some sort if there was a plan at all, my assumption is that he wanted to see if we actually could make them pack it up. My guess is that he wanted to piss us off, then let us win and take the nether factory, giving us a very valuable resource and then use us as a weapon against the Weepee. Considering at the time that Mir was powerplaying against the Weepee, I don't think that this is too unlikely.
2. He planned to use us to kill Mir because he realized that Mir was upsetting the balance of power and supporting the Weepee when it was convenient. This assumes that he was willing to allow us to destroy Mir. Of course, if this was the case, then he could have combined this with option 1. In either case, he would still get what he wanted.
3. The whole thing was a ruse and was meant to draw us in and weaken us so that if Nox went full retard we wouldn't help them. This also is not incompatible with the other goals. But, of all of them, this is the one that we ended up giving him, if this was indeed his thought process. Had the Mir War not happened, Chanada would probably not have collapsed as rapidly as it did. The war put a ton of major projects on hold, as well as accelerating the decline of the little countries and driving a massive wedge between /K/ompound and the rest of Chanada. This contributed to the growing mountain of disfunctional politics and refusal to confront the issues, because nobody could even agree what the problem actually was anymore. It also wiped out a fair amount of our wealth, although /Pol/ynesia probably ended out stronger for the war, not weaker.
No.36297
>>36296
I actually always believed it was the third one, if anything. My assumption is that he realized that Chanada had the greatest potential of all the nations out there to fuck up Mir's ability to raid shit and understood that he needed to kick us down a notch.
So, he forced us into a war that we were not prepared for and allowed us to throw months of wealth at them just as we were about to actually unfuck our shit and really get powerful. (Had the Mir War not gone down, I have no doubt that we would have had a vault up and running by August and Lux would not have seceded).
This is why I covertly argued against declaring war and encouraged a peaceful solution for as long as possible. From my perspective, simply appeasing them to keep the peace until we were really ready to strike back and had our ducks in a row was the right thing to do. We should NEVER have declared war, we should have just ignored them, gotten a working alliance with SPQR, and then gotten a coordinated attack plan that involved a direct vault break on Mir's homeland off the ground while at the same time flattening their incursion to our land by Lailynator's town.
Once we'd won, we should have used that as an opportunity to lock down control of the semi-inactive towns and reabsorb most of Laily's land on the pretense of him being unable to protect it and watch over it. That would have put an end to a fair amount of the fracturing of Chanada.
No.36303
as others correctly said oldfriend was jpegz. I successfully guessed the oldfriend -redhelp connection without knowing redhelp=jpegz. Joshjosh was the one who somehow learned that this alt belonged to jpegz.
He joined polynesia way back during the 1st shill wave that brought in camokool and myself - to infiltrate and troll around when most of his crew was inactive but genuinely liked playing with us (being absolute newfags during our earliest days I'm sure it was amusing)
The oldfriend bit was presumably shitposting more than anything. This part is all opinion I imagine it got to a point that he was too tied up in Mir stuff to do anything - yet lacked real credentials as 'oldfriend' to leverage a happening in either direction. Perhaps he hoped that we would someday shake up the servers stagnant power structure - perhaps he wanted to lead us on and eventually betray us - perhaps he was just a master ruseman and got a huge laugh out of it (most likely option and rather amusing in retrospect). I suppose we could ask him what his endgame was though I'm not even sure he had one.

I donated all of my wealth, tore down my personal vault - which you and tigen helped me.yet I still "profited" from the war. (all of it was donated to the government).

I personally probably would have made out with some wealth had it not been for the fact that I had to leave a lot of the stuff I looted in a drop chest that I subsequently lost the coords to. Pretty much just word, and from that he's admitted it on redhelp, and also posted here saying he lived in pol and people in pol have found his identity.
Then josh found out on the NDZ sub reddit that Redhelp is an alt of Jpegz. See:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Danzilona/comments/30qpwg/becoming_a_duel_citizen_with_mir/
Either way. Jpegz worked his way up on Redhelp in /pol/ and became somewhat respected. At one point he had moderator on the door group and main chat.
Funny enough during the mir war, Lystika, Jpegz and (possible?) jake raided the tower thinking that it was still our main hq. Unfortunately for them it was a remnant of its former glory.
Not to mention, Oldfriends "plan" was to 'move' to the deep + + and make it the strongest quadrant on the server. It's a shame, because they may of made decent allies with us if they weren't so salty for no reason.
