I've gone to a great extent researching theological topics, and my current conclusion is that Jesus never existed, or that there is not historical evidence to him existing (inb4 flimsy secondary document from 300).
I do, however, believe that roman rule brought out many cults and sects based on Messianic ideas. If Jesus did in fact exist, he was persecuted in the way that many other people who claimed to be the one were taken care of. There was a two part power structure that these folks would be up against
1. Roman Authorities
2. Judah's Elite (the Rabbinical, and the local government)
The many Jesuses were definitely exterminated by these 2 very corrupt governors.
The truth still remains: the Torah is for all the nations (Goyim). The Jews are not the chosen people, they are the people who chose God. Gods first revelation was given to all the nations, but they couldnt understand it (happened around 7000 BC). Christianity misses a lot of important points, but it gets the main idea across. Its meant to be a way for Goyim to receive the torah, I personally prefer the cross to the kebab.
